I stepped out of my doorstep when the castle was lit by the last rays of the evening sun. I still haven't get used of its presence, high on the cliff, overlooking the town. Actually I find it kind of surrealistic, almost unreal!
I started walking in the park and a couple of minutes later I arrived to the old rail station. The building is now a music school and for a while I was walking with the companion of piano and singing!
An old train has been left there as a reminder of the old status. It could have been a good idea if it wasn't so loudly neglected and decaying. Not bad for a few pictures though :)
In the middle of the park there is a big statue of one of the most iconic figures of the Greek revolution. The evening sun was again just in the right place to bring out all the details of the carving!
The big trees and the old imposing houses make a nice combination and even a short walk in the park can change your mood. And of course the castle monitoring every move you make :)
The fire department and the telecommunication company, they both occupy a great spot at the edge of the park and a few steps away from the historical centre. I don't know how it looks to you but the word surrealism keeps popping in my mind!
And suddenly a loquat that I haven't even noticed it was there, full of fruits almost ripe! All that a few meters away from my new place. It still feels a bit awkward but I think I could get used to this :)
I hope you enjoyed it :)
Happy Wednesday, happy walks, to all of you :)

Your new place sure seems in a nice area, what a beautiful walk, such a shame they have let the train decay like that but at least the station is being put to good use
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk, its my pleasure to host it and see all the posts each week from all around the world, including yours, if you have time visit some of the other walks this week there are so many interesting ones
Now I know most only post once a week using the Wednesday walk tag or community and I truly appreciate that and love visiting the posts so for most of you you can ignore the next sentence
I try and be nice and let people know via a comment to only post once a week, but some just abuse it and to me spam multiple posts a week, after asking nicely a few times and being ignored, this morning I regrettably had to mute a couple of people who were spamming the Wednesday walk tag
It is one of the most beautiful small towns in Greece, I can't argue that! Hopefully I'll share many walks from around here :)
Too bad you have to waste your time with spammers, you have created a wonderful community and I am sure that it is quite frustrating to see people that don't respect your work and efforts.
Cheers
I look forward to seeing more of your walks there
Spammers will do what they do I generally try to ignore them but it was getting to much so I had to mute a couple and felt i had to explain why

Beautiful and calm walk around the town... Like the idea of converting the old train station into a music school!

Great walk! I like this old train, and the graffiti isn't the worst, except the windows would have been better left clean.
I don't mind the graffiti, it is the overall negligence that felt out of place!
