I have always said that spring is the best season for outdoors photography. The light is just the best possible. The sun is soft, nothing like the harsh light of the summer and low enough to point out the landscape's relief. And the occasional white clouds only add charm to the scenery, in contradiction to the dark, ominous clouds of winter. The autumn is my second best choice but still, I prefer spring. Everything seems more clean, more fresh. Nature is reseting and starts a new circle of growth. Autumn is more like an end. It's the time to get our shit together and get ready for winter!
But the previous nine springs I was mostly engaged in other occupations and photography was left aside. I was thinking once in a while that I should get outside and capture a few spring landscapes but there was always something in the way. And the years kept passing by, one after another.
Yesterday morning as I was walking at the port, I remembered why I like the light this time of the year. It was exactly what I love about this season. The familiar landscape was transformed by this soft and mesmerising light and I was so happy I had a camera with me :)
Even the cats looked more beautiful than usual, under this light!
Yes, spring is on its way and I don't have to be in a meadow to realise it. I can grasp it in the air, I can see it in the colour of the sky, I can feel it with all my senses!
And the old town seems to be reviving after a short winter brake and getting ready for the flocks of tourists that are about to come! Soon, the empty public square will be a rare luxury and only the birds will keep their usual rhythm and fly graciously over the crowded streets!
The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 850D with an EF-S 18-135mm lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

I agree 100% that spring is the best time of year for outdoor landscape shots.
Spring is that season of the year that is perceived on the skin, in the aroma of the wind.

Oh yes, spring is the best :)
And although we didn't have much of a winter, it is always nice to welcome spring!
That's how I feel too 😁
Your reflections on the passing of time and the missed opportunities in the previous years resonate with many, and it's heartening to see that this year you took the chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of spring. The images of the old town coming alive after a short winter break convey a sense of anticipation and vibrancy.
