Precious opportunity

in Wednesday Walk2 days ago

We got out of the car and the first one who rushed into the woods was, of course, Marcos. Our canine, overenthusiastic and overactive companion :)

We weren't supposed to be there but sometimes the universe wants us to breath some fresher air and dogs to run off leash, under the trees! So we found ourselves into a fir forest, totally unprepared, dressed lightly and completely unsuitable for the terrain and the rain that was about to start. Check out my shoes in the pic below and you'll understand what I am talking about.

And for one more time I didn't have a camera with me!

Despite all that, we decided to have a short walk, at least as long as the weather would allow us to keep going. After all, fir trees is not something that we have the chance to see every day. They grow high in the mountains at an altitude of 1.000 meters, more or less, and we live by the sea! So we grabbed the opportunity and tried to make the most out of it.

The same applies to the pictures too. With no camera in my hand, I had to use my humble Xiaomi phone and its rather inadequate sensor :(

Of course after a few steps, I had forgotten all the minor problems, like the wrong shoes, the lack of a jacket and the stupid image capturing device that I was holding and I got carried away by the beauty of the forest.

Do you believe that the first time I ever walked into an actual forest was during my military service, at the age of 25?

Forests is something that I haven't enjoyed enough in my life and every opportunity is precious!

As the raindrops became thicker, I knew that we had to end our walk and leave this wonderful place. I called @traisto who was wandering a few meters away and we took our way back. We entered the car wondering if we should keep walking for a bit more. No-one of us three wanted to leave but only a few seconds later we had our answer. The rain started to fall heavily and it kept doing so for many kilometres, as we were driving away.

This is my contribution to the #wednesdaywalk challenge, hosted by @tattoodjay!

I took those pictures with a Redmi Note 12s mobile phone and did some minor editing on the phone itself.

All the pictures and the words are mine.

Beautiful place and excellent photos. No matter the device, the important thing is the person behind the viewfinder. Marcos as always, in total harmony with the environment. Greetings to all of you.

Thank you very much for always been so kind and encouraging :)

Cheers!

I can totally relate to forgetting about the little inconveniences once you're surrounded by nature’s beauty.

I believe many of us do!
