A couple of days ago I made a nice walk in the dunes. It's an area I've visited a few times in the past, but I hadn't been there for a while.
When I arrived at the parking place I thought it would be crowded, but luckily it's a large area. I did spot some other people, but it wasn't crowded.
One of the reasons I didn't spot too many people is that I often don't pick the paved roads, but these nice sandy ones.
The dunes have all sorts of little trails though the dunes and the trees.
It's winter now, so there isn't a lot of green except from the pine trees and the moss that grows onto the sandy soil.
A bit further inland there are some waters that are called fens. The water is extremely clear.
Here's another one.
I really like the structures the wind makes in the sand of the dunes.
One of the few things that grow are the Pine cones.
And there are still some berries left. I think they must be poisonous or taste really bad because else the birds would already have eaten them.
And here's a macro shot of a dried out thistle. In summer these are nice green with a purple flower and attract lots of bees.

Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.
I'm sharing my photos on Hive, Noise.Cash & APPICS.

I to like getting off the paved paths and exploring the more natural trails, Love the reflections in those fens, which is a term i didnt know
the patterns inthe sand dunes are cool we dont have any of those near here
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Even though it's not green in the winter, the nature is still very beautiful. That's an interesting walk. Today I couldn't make it to share everyone about my walk because of Tet holiday. I will try to make it tomorrow.
Nice landscapes and close ups !
Mooi!
Best of both worlds! 😀
