It's Wednesday, so right in time for a new ride or walk out there, right? π
Even though it's been a few weeks already since I last took on a ride my bike, I remembered about this folder with the memories created back on a Wednesday so I thought it's a pretty good excuse to share them in today's article but also update you with what new things we purchased for our bikes.
It was actually the name day of my boyfriend so thinking that I still don't have a present for him but somehow the helmets were also missing from our equipment, we began the day by taking a quick walk to a shop with all kinds of accessories for the bikes and purchased these.
Actually, since we discovered how much we enjoy this activity, my boyfriend kept watching various videos on YouTube related to bikes and that's how we found out that 92% of the people who die while riding a bike, are mostly caused because they weren't wearing a helmet which is horrible!
We always postponed the moments of getting a helmet thinking that it will either be too heavy or that will make our heads warm up like crazy during the hot days of the summer, but the interesting part came when we tested them out and then purchased and realized that they actually help to ventilate your head more than you'd feel without the helmets.
Another thing that at this moment I am the single one who purchased it, is the bike saddle which turned out into an urgent must while the one I was using was very uncomfortable and made us take a break from rides way too many times. My boyfriend is also planning to get one pretty soon, so hopefully, these will solve our delicate problems, lol.
I will leave down below the links to the things we purchased for our bikes in our last shopping day in case anyone is interested or wants to read more aspects about them:
- Rockrider MTB ST500 Helmet: you can read more about it, here;
- Btwin CBH500 Helmet: you can read more about it, here;
- Acid MTB Bike Saddle: you can read more about it, here.
Anyway, enough with these technical aspects because this is a Wednesday ride post overall, right? π
So, as soon as we made the little upgrade on our bikes, we decided to hit the road again following a ride both on the streets of the city where we are living but also getting into the woods for some more adrenaline moments and lots of mud on our wheels.
Even though we had in plan to enjoy a more relaxing day rather than one of these days with 20+ km on the saddle, we still wanted to take a tour around the park and forest until we will get to our favourite place where we can set up the hammock and spend a while there.
I won't make this post any longer saying how much fun we had until we found the perfect positions how two can stay in the same hammock because we had lots of fails and attempts, but I'm happy that we managed to disconnect ourselves from technology, traffic noise and daily routines for a few hours we spent there talking, reading, laughing, eating and even just staying silent to listen to the sounds of nature.
I know that there are two categories of people, namely these who always want to have an activity and are used to always be in action, vs the other category we are also part of, who prefer these chill and relaxing moments with not too many things going on around you but which I think are more valuable for the inner spirit and your own stress-free moments.
How does a Wednesday look like for you? What category are you part of? π

How cool to take a ride find a spot to setup the hammock and relax for a while
Having worked on an Ambulance decades ago I saw some head injuries from cyclist so I do think a helmet is a great idea, and a good seat is essential for comfort on longer rides for sure
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
The hammock is never missing from my backpack while taking either a ride or a trip. It's incredible how relaxing it is to sit in one!
As for the head injuries... I don't even want to know! I'm sure it was horrible and I can't imagine having such an incident. So hopefully we'll stay away from this kind of moments and rather create beautiful ones, lol :)
And thanks for stopping by! I wasn't sure this suits the Wednesday walk challenge but I thought I will give it a try as it's still sort of a walk but on a bike haha
its a great idea taking your hammock, to be honest i cant remember the last time I spent time relaxing on a hammock
I am pretty easy going on the walk, for me its all about getting outdoors , some fresh air and some exercise, whether walking or biking it achieves those goals so its fine with me :)
That's good to know, as we get more often with the bikes rather than walks lately, lol!
go for it and keep them coming :)
What a fun rideβ¦ beautiful surroundings. And the hammock hahaha yep itβs a challenge to get both in there and be comfy π
The helmets are a great addition for safety. I learned that while I competed in cycling race. One time had a severe crash but the helmet did help out big time. Itβs worth itβ¦
Happy Wednesday further ππ»βοΈ
Quite a big challenge I could say! lol
I'm happy we managed to get the helmets even though is a little bit late but better later than never! In fact, I'm happy we realized how much we need them before having an accident...
Stay safe and happy Wednesday to you too! π
Yes, better late than never. Especially as the traffic is getting worse everywhereβ¦
But being in nature helps with that. Riding trails, avoiding traffic.
Thank you kindly ππ»π
For me, it is a balance of both. I need to disconnect and be still or without the noise of it, but, there are times it is the thing I love doing.
It really is hard to find a position for two! Don't breathe!
I always wear a helmet. I had a rule for my children when they were little and I have to lead by example. :) I like your new seat! We cannot say how important the right one is!
A beautiful walk as you ride! I was running behind you! Thanks for taking me along!
I can feel you as sometimes I am a little bit of both too! But lately, I feel more the need of being in nature and away from people in general.
That's a nice example you give to your children and definitely very important to learn how needed a helmet is from the younger ages. Thank you for joining me and I hope you have a great Wednesday! π
You had a beautiful day; disconnecting from technology and all the noise of the city is sometimes the best thing. Seeing your post makes me miss my bike.
Oh yeah! I wish I could have this kind of disconnection from people and technology at least once per week! What happened to your bike though? π₯Ί
Sure, I hope you can do it. I sold my bike last year, thought about buying another one, then got the idea out of my head, until I couldn't.
That's sad! I hope you will manage to get a new one soon!
