Hello Wednesday walkers,
Here are some hiking pictures from the Normandy coast in France. I traveled around there in my van and I walked many different routes along the coast were the soldiers came ashore during D-day.
With that in mind it were pretty impressive walks. There is a lot of history there along the shore and on those cliffs. If you have the change, go and visit Normandy.
The beaches are beautiful and it's not only sand. I like these rocky shorelines more that just the sand. it's very good for photographing sunsets with long exposures. But then the clouds need to not be there.
Views from the top of the cliffs.
I asked some one to take my picture. I am not in frame that often.
I love these landscapes with the green and the red roofs of the houses.
I would so life here if I could pay for it. look how cute those houses are.
This ship is only visible at the lowest point of the tides. It's far away on the beach and it's not visible for a long time. You have to be quick. They told me it's a ship from WW2 and it was transporting soldiers during D-day.
In some places the beaches are very big. Sand as far the eye reaches.
This was a cool find. I needed to be quickly but to bad they flew away very quick. I could make one picture of them but it's a little blur. But i am still clad I have them in a picture.
Look at all those shapes and colors that I came across along the beach.
And the last pictures are from the sunset. Always good to see these colors in the sky as a desert.
These beaches are a must visit. To see the beautiful shore lines but definitely the history that has happened here.
"never again for nobody"
Thank you for sharing this walk. I would like to visit some day. Those houses are soo beautiful up on the cliff! The wreckage of the ship is very sobering.
It feels surreal out there. All those young men who died there
Who would say that there was a huge battle on these beautiful shores not that long time ago and that many people lost their lives on that beach... It's amazing how nature "fixes it all" and covers all our ridiculous actions, wars, and tryouts to ruin our natural habitat...

It so peacfull there now. Imagine what happen there is really insane
It is really amazing to think what happened there and what Peter shared with us.
I was visiting Croatia a few months ago when the war in '90-is finished, and it was painful to see how some places looked... Today, after 20+ years, it's so hard to imagine those terrifying things that happened, not that long ago...
The same goes for the place that Peter shared... It's hard to imagine, but you can almost feel them...
The combination of history and stunning landscapes must have made it such a memorable experience.
Thanks for sharing this.

Haha, hi, its me 👋😅
that ship must be full of history, kinda a shame it's left like this there...great pictures as always
as a note, i settled down everything with hivewatchers, all solved now
There are many ships and artifacts there. They are all protected by marine laws or something like that. I am not sure what you mean by hivewatchers, did I do something wrong?
No no, you did nothing. My issues with them are solved, not yours 😅
Haga 😅 okay. We all have been there. I have accidentally posted the same thing twice 🙈
There's plenty of room there on the cliffs for you to put your little house on that green grass hahaha... what great pictures, @haastrecht. 😍
Haha 😅 just a woden cabin would be awesome already
