Haven't been able to do much of #wednesdaywalk but so glad I have something for it this week!
There is a food truck square in my neighbourhood. But I really seldom go to it because I know if I do, I will be spoiled by choices and may end up spending too much. However on one rare occasion because my appetite has been quite bad at nights recently, I went in search of tacos for some sourish tomato salsa.
The food truck square has about maybe 12 to 15 trucks maybe? There are also tables and chairs in the middle for customers to sit and enjoy their food. They are open every night but the trucks may take turns to rest on their own.
There are a huge variety from Western food to nasi lemak (Malay coconut milk rice) with dishes to fried kuey teow (fried rice flat noodles) to some drinks like coffee and milk tea to some very very rare Indian food and some special burgers.
There was even a dessert truck selling cakes called Sunday Do truck.
Now let me introduce to you what I bought since the taco truck or stall was close, sadly. I was searching for it high and low and saw it closed when I was waiting for my kimchi burger.
Craving for something sourish, I ordered a kimchi burger for Rm8 from this burger stall that is rather special. There were a lot of burger flavours to choose from and interestingly, the stall has a TV for its waiting customers or maybe for the owners to watch themselves. They played movies for us!
Next to it is a coffee truck.
I was contemplating if I want to get a Pani Puri. It is an Indian cuisine that we rarely see though I have tried some good ones few times. It is served in shells like this.
Asides from Pani Puri, they also have other food on their menu. But i was only attracted to the Pani Puri.
I told the seller I wanted to pack it home so he was kind to pack the condiments for me in different packs. There were so many of them, he said only that way it can make the pani puri realy nice.
It started drizzling so I quickly made my way to the car. It really started pouring after that. God bless the vendors. It is not easy to make business on rainy days.
The food I packed home
Just see how many condiments I brought home!
It qas my first time assembling it myself. So now I do understand why it takes time for sellers to prepare it when we order. It was RM10 FOR 7 SHELLS! So firstly I needed to poke a hole in each shell with my thumb gently.
Then I added in the condiments one by one, with the raw onions first with the mashed potatoes and the other ingredients, followed by a coriander sauce, chilli sauce and lastly some fried tidbits that is probably muruku like this. The fried ones is always as the toppings I guess.
Now they are all done and ready to be eaten! The different layers of textures just make it so inviting to be eaten!
I took a bite and got wow-ed by it so much! It was very very very delicious! I loved it and wished I bought more instantly! The tanginess of it was so appetizing for me!
Asides from Pani Puri, my husband requested for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich.
I bought myself a kimchi burger which was interesting and unusual from the regular burger flavours. It was okay but nothing beats the Pani Puri, man!
Really feel like going back for more! Hopefully the next time I go, the taco stall is open! Hope you enjoyed a little food tour with me for ##wednesdaywalk this week!
Happy mid -week!
@happycrazycon, I was happy to see a very beautiful dish, pani puri. Pani puri is available everywhere in India. I like the spicy and sweet taste very much.
Yes it is! Whenever I see someone selling it, I just have to get it! Love it!
The food trucks at the square look amazing! The variety of dishes must be delightful.
A perfect spot for a Wednesday walk filled with delicious discoveries.
