Fort Augustus is lovely isnt it - I love the canal locks there. There is another set just like them in Fort William at the other end of the Caledonian Canal, called Neptune's Ladder which takes the canal back down to loch level there too. Both are pretty impressive !

We didn’t visit the other side. But I love seeing things like the locks. Especially when there are many.
No boat went through it though and some parts there was ice on the top layer of the water. Interesting to see. The steps were slippery too from the ice. As it had frozen in the night and that day.
