It was a Monday that I was finally free from tuition because I had made all my replacement classes the previous Mondays. Husband had been wanting to go hunt for Ramadan food at the Ramadan Bazaar, and to eat together with family too. He loved to do this sort of thing. So, all of us somehow could synchronise our time — Monday's dinner at in-law's place for Ramadan food!!! Yippee!!!

We went to parents' house earlier so that we could go to the Ramadan Bazaar earlier too. It was already crowded when we were there at 4:15pm.

Let's walk a bit with me at Ramadan Bazaar!

Thank you @tattoodjay where we can post our walks on #WednesdayWalk and to read the walk of others too! Hope you get well soon.🙏

Chek's Catering

The first thing we saw upon reaching was this super long queue at this stall called Chek's Catering. They had been around for years and they are famous for their briyani rice cooked by using premium long grain basmathi rice, infused with spices and herbs. Besides this, they are famous for their tomato rice as well as all the meat dishes cooked in various. If you are here, you must not miss their mutton and beef rendang, cooked for hours till soft, very very delicious.

We bought one briyani rice with beef, one briyani rice with mutton and one tomato rice with chicken cooked in red rendang. Eat with hands, and you would even get extra satisfaction licking your fingers.

They also served a special healthy dessert called Lai Ci Kang pure, loaded with 13 ingredients like red dates, white fungus, barley, nutmeg, raisins, longan, lychee, loh han kuo, basil seed and etc. Very healthy drink, but if you do not prefer the smell of nutmeg, then you may not like it. My youngest son super loved it but my eldest son not so. I am still craving for the mutton briyani rice now.

Onde-onde

This one is a stall sells sweet snack called onde-onde which is chewy green dough on the outside and inside filled with coconut sugar. One bite and with the sugar bursted into your mouth called for satisfaction. They are famous and many TikTokers making video in front of their shop because they made the onde-onde fresh on the spot! I did think the dough was slightly too think for the amount of coconut sugar inside. Either that, the amount of coconut needed to be more for some balance.

Roti John

Next, let's walk to another stall nearby called Roti John, a long bun with egg mixture, cabbage salad and some meat (either chicken or beef), loaded with their signature sauce. I ordered the special mozzarella whereby they also torched burn the mozzarella. The Roti John was delicious except not enough mozzarella cheese of course. We barely tasted abit.

My husband bought roti John from another stall whereby the bun itself was layers of egg, I thought it was brilliant but this roti John was quite dry in texture. The mozzarella one tasted better.

Sea Coconut drink

I was so so thirsty due to the hot scorching sun that I walked around to hunt for drink. I skipped those super artificial colored drink and spotted this stall. I couldn't take a lot of photos because it was already super jam and crowded

I saw the sea coconut drink and immediately ordered a big one. Very thirsty already. It was wayyy too sweet till my hair stood up but I still drank due to over thirsty. I drank half and I gave the other half to my childw. By the time all the ice melted, the drink was nicer because it was less sweet. Husband told me it was supposed to be that sweet so that by the time people 'buka puasa', the ice had melted and it would taste just nice. Lol... "Hah, I didn't wait till their break fast time. Ops".

Big stir fry

I stopped by this stall where they stirred fry big amount of noodle on their big flat wok. Super fragrant. We ordered a fried kuey teow with added egg for our sister-in-law.

Saw a murtabak stall too but we just had murtabak so we skipped.

That was all the stalls I had walked to. Other food bought by my husband and mother-in-law was samoso (crispy fried triangle), akok (aka egg sweet pancake), pan fry fish and stingray and fried whole chicken. We walked separately so that we could conquer more stalls. Lol. Hope you enjoy a glimpse of this crowded Ramadan Bazaar!

We ate till super full!

Everyone was happy and this will be included in #makemesmile, by @elizacheng.

Wow, there's a lot of food, most of which I haven't seen before. Especially that huge bread, we don't have bread that huge in my country. Thanks for sharing these photos on Hive.

I assume "buka puasa" means Iftar (The Ramadanic Breakfast.) Is your husband a Muslim?
