Climbing mountains and strolling through scenic trails and city streets, are things I usually do during holidays. But ever since I went back to school, my routine changed, and I missed a lot of things, including mountaineering and exploring the countryside. With my remaining days left on my visa, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to mark everything on my bucket list.
Photos shared here were taken from my last hiking, particularly my adventure to West Dog Teeth and The Peak. This was my hiking adventure that also involved crossing the sea. There's always a sense of anticipation and excitement each time I see the vastness of the sea. It's like the shimmering water waves at me to embark on a new journey beyond the horizon. From Central Harbor, I traveled to Mui Wo. A town on the east coast of Lantau Island. There are popular tourist destinations in this town too. However, I only took a glimpse of the harbor before I detoured and embarked on a new journey to my ideal destination.
From Mui Wo, I traveled by bus to Shek Pik Country Trail, where the starting point of the mountain is located. I missed the bus stop, yet, I was able to see the beauty of the reservoir and the surrounding mountains which added to my excitement. The Shek Pik Country Trail is also a relaxing place to visit on weekends. There are barbecue sites and picnic areas. The concrete pathways are ideal for biking. There are different options to make while in this Country Trail. I haven't gone to the farther part, though, since I detoured to the mountain area to start my hike.
Each time I walk to the mountain, the view of the lush greenery and surrounding hills becomes a comforting sight. There's always a sense of awe and admiration enveloping me. I would take a moment to pause and just watch the beauty of nature unfold before my eyes. And as I immerse myself in nature, I let it embrace me and soothe my soul. For a while, I feel like I am the guest, and nature is serving me with its scenic views and relaxing surroundings. At the end of the day, I would descend from the mountain with a sense of gratitude and a content heart.
I am looking forward to finishing my course, so I can go back to traveling and mountaineering after the summer.
