Happy Wednesday #WednesdayWalk Community and to its founder @tatootday. It's gloomy and rainy on my side, I hope you are doing well on your side of the world.
During our trip to Macau, we went to Cotai where Wynn Palace is located to supposedly ride on the Skycab Cable Car. This will allow visitors to wander around Wynn Palace while in the cable car.
I was so much looking for it because it would be my first time riding a cable car in Macau. Unfortunately, upon seeing the very long queue, we backed out as it might take us a few hours in the line.
We crossed the road instead and visited MGM Cotai. It's a world-class luxury resort that achieved 5-Star recognition from the Forbes Travel Guide. It is also a perfect place for dining, entertainment, and relaxation, and I must add, for gambling. Outside MGM is a huge gold statue of a lion which resembles Simba from The Lion King. But I know the lion has symbolism in Chinese beliefs. So I presumed, it was a symbol of good luck.
If you are wealthy enough, you can experience a luxurious staycation in its hotel worth thousands per night. So fancy, isn't it? The grandest room is even higher than my monthly salary! D*mn. I couldn't afford it. But we just roamed around and I kept admiring the world-class interior design - spectacular and elegant in gold color.
We came across the Anytime Atrium and I was stunned for the nth time. It's just one of the most luxurious cafes and dessert shops in Macau. The atrium serves as the indoor al fresco dining area. Its roof is truly stunning and one-of-a-kind. There are digital displays of art and photography as well on the screen wall that changes depending on the theme or season.
Wherever you go in Macau, you will always see Casinos. That was the first thing I noticed while traveling around it, and I quoted, "Macau: The home of the world's casinos." Upon knowing more about Macau, it is indeed the gambling capital of the world!
MGM also has a casino. And I was eager to see what it looked like inside when I learned that my male boss would be going there. I was very interested in the casino because I had never gone to one before. He even made the joke that if I play, he will give me HKD1,000. I'll just say, "I don't know how to gamble," in response.
Because of the spectacular interior design, I was more eager to see the inside. But my female employer informed me that taking pictures inside is prohibited. Meanwhile, the young lady was left outside since anyone under 18 isn't allowed to enter the place. And I finally see a casino in my life. There were a lot of gamblers! And mostly were losing, I presumed. Because that's what the lady told me, lol.
Who said I can not take photos inside? When the staff wasn't looking, I took my phone out and clicked my camera fastly, lol. You can see the photo above.
The best part of the casino for non-gamblers was the free drinks and snacks. Yep! You read it right. At the corner was a food stall offering free drinks and snacks for all visitors, not just for gamblers, lol.
Moreover, there were free bottles of water on every table and I took one for myself after drinking the free tea and eating two packs of mini snacks, lol. It was because my female boss didn't eat the one I got for her. So I ended up eating all. Meanwhile, the male boss was busy gambling somewhere in the casino. We went out first after taking our free snacks and my longing for something to drink was relieved. The lady outside was thirsty as well and she drank the bottled water we took for her shortly after handing it to her.
So if you visit Macau and want some free snacks, just enter any casino 🤣. Just look for gold-colored fancy-looking buildings, lol. Later on, the male boss went out with a not-so-happy face. And even without asking, we can tell the reason why. I was curious though how much he lost, lol.
The last spot we visited was the Fondant Art Exhibition. When the lady spotted this yellow-colored room, she dragged my hand as she wanted us to enter the place. It happened to be the venue for Fondant Art Exhibition. There are a lot of art museums and exhibition centers in Macau, and this was just one of them.
This art exhibition showcases artistic fondant sculptures of Zhou Yi, China's King of Sugar. He is known for his incredible cake decorations, and his masterpiece now become one of the attractions in Macau combining fondant art, his food-making skills, and sculpturing. All his decorations are inspired by Chinese fiction stories and some known Chinese artists.
For instance, this one is called "The Betrothal" from the "Three Books and Six Rituals." It illustrates Chinese marriage traditions and customs back in the day. Each fondant art is enclosed in a glass with a label about the display. This fondant art, by the way, can be eaten similar to those cake decorations you know.
This one was familiar to me as I've been seeing it in Chinese fantasy TV series. It is called the nine-tailed fox which traveled for thousand of years. In Chinese beliefs, it symbolizes peace and prosperity.
It was such a great experience at MGM Resort. Although short, I want to visit this place again next time. The Art Exhibition was just a bonus and it wasn't in our plan.
That would be all for today's blog. Thanks for stopping by.

Ganda ng place! Akala ko yung sculptures that you had shared are made from resin pero upon reading your blog I am more amazed na it is made from sugar! So artistic naman. Di me nagsusugal pero most likely I will be there enjoying the ambiance and seeing people enjoy the place too and food as well since 5 star resto for sure sarap din ng foods.
Galing nga. Yung nakikita lang sa cake, naging art na...
Of course, expect na fancy din ang price given that it is inside a fancy place hehe.. !PIZZA

The MGM there is amazing. Beautiful and glamorous in and out!! It very much reminded me of the one in Las Vegas I visited quite some time ago. The casino hotels are a sight to see most of the time.
