Right now I don't understand life... I am going through a series of disappointments that have had me reflecting for days now, and at the same time with the routine my walks have diminished, but for some strange reason I am still smiling, in fact we are still smiling, because this strange season is affecting us as a couple, and not only me. My girl's pain is my pain, my defeats are her defeats, and that strength we give each other is the engine to smile every day despite the adversities. With this post I intend to forget a little and focus on this afternoon of smiles two weeks ago, when we went for a walk in a very beautiful part of Caracas.
Justo ahora no entiendo la vida... Estoy atravesando una serie de decepciones que me tienen reflexionando desde hace días, y al mismo tiempo con la rutina han disminuido mis paseos, pero por alguna extraña razón sigo sonriendo, de hecho seguimos sonriendo, porque esta temporada extraña nos está afectando como pareja, y no solo a mí. El dolor de mi chica es mi dolor, mis derrotas son sus derrotas, y esa fuerza que nos damos el uno al otro es el motor para sonreír cada día a pesar de las adversidades. Con este post pretendo olvidar un poco y centrarme en esta tarde de sonrisas de hace dos semanas, cuando salimos a dar un paseo en una parte muy bonita de Caracas.
This part of the city is called Proceres Walk, and is an area where tributes are made to heroes of the history of Venezuela through sculptures and acts of the armed forces, but beyond that, is a public area, beautiful and well maintained and we can all go for a walk here, exercise and take pictures, in fact I hope to return this coming season, as they decorate the trees and various parts of the square with lights and Christmas decorations, so I'm glad I went in the day to enjoy a little of this space.
Esta parte de la ciudad se llama Paseo Los Próceres, y es un área donde se hacen homenajes a héroes de la historia de Venezuela a través de esculturas y actos de las fuerzas armadas, pero más allá de eso, es un área pública, hermosa y bien cuidada y todos podemos ir a dar un paseo por acá, hacer ejercicio y tomarse fotografías, de hecho espero volver en esta época venidera, ya que adornaran los árboles y varias partes de la plaza con luces y adornos navideños, así que me alegra haber ido en el día a disfrutar un poco de este espacio.

My favorite area is where there is a huge and beautiful pool surrounded by tall palm trees. To the north you can see our beloved El Avila hill and to the south the tall leafy trees under the white clouds. It is hot here, yes, very hot, but it is worth it to be in full daylight to enjoy the beauty of the place, the very clean water reflecting the blue of the sky and the white of the various sculptures and statues in the area. In this area we rested for a while and made a small campsite.
Mi área preferida es donde hay una enorme y hermosa piscina rodeada de altas palmeras. Hacia el norte se puede apreciar nuestro querido cerro El Ávila y al sur los altos árboles frondosos bajo las blancas nubes. Hace calor aquí?, sí, y mucho, pero vale la pena estar a plena luz del día para disfrutar la belleza del lugar, el agua muy limpia reflejando el azul del cielo y el blanco de las diversas esculturas y estatuas de la zona. En esta zona descansamos un rato e hicimos un pequeño camping.
At the end of the walk you can see the tall monoliths with the statues of the Venezuelan heroes, it is really a pleasant experience to be there, as each sculpture is more imposing than the other and it makes me remember that many people fought to leave an independent country, so it brings me some nostalgia to think about the current political situation, but well, it is a nice space of Caracas, a place to enjoy a little of that rich combination between the rural and the natural. We smiled a lot this day, and I'm glad, because the following weeks would be a bit rough and we were ignoring it then...
Al final del paseo se puede apreciar los altos monolitos con las estatuas de los próceres venezolanos, realmente es una experiencia grata estar ahí, ya que cada escultura es más imponente que la otra y a mí me hace recordar que muchas personas lucharon para dejar un país independiente, así que me trae algo de nostalgia pensar en la situación política actual, pero bueno, es un espacio bonito de Caracas, un lugar para disfrutar un poco de esa rica combinación entre lo rural y lo natural. Sonreímos mucho este día, y me alegra, porque las siguiente semanas serían algo rudas y lo ignorábamos entonces...
These days have been a lot of work and some stress, so I really miss doing these little walks, alone or accompanied, to walk or jog, it doesn't matter, but connecting with nature has become a balm for the soul. Some days it's harder to smile and go on, and more so when so many things come together at once, but a walk to reflect and breathe fresh air always helps to find a solution to get out of those feelings that keep us locked up in ourselves. These pictures make me smile, even for a little while, but they also remind me that there is a wonderful world to keep exploring...
Estos días han sido de mucho trabajo y algo de estrés, así que realmente extraño hacer estos pequeños paseos, solo o acompañado, para caminar o trotar, no importa, pero conectar con la naturaleza se ha convertido en un bálsamo para el alma. Algunos días es más difícil sonreír y continuar, y más cuando tantas cosas se juntan a la vez, pero un paseo para reflexionar y respirar aire fresco siempre ayuda buscar una solución para salir de esos sentimientos que nos mantienen encerrados en sí mismos. Estas fotografías me sacan una sonrisa, así sea un rato, pero me recuerda también que hay un mundo maravilloso que seguir explorando...
