One of Kyoto’s famous tourist destinations is the Fushimi Inari-taisha or the Thousand Torii Gates.
Those orange gates have a nice aesthetic that is engrained in Japanese culture. In short, iconic. ✨😍
I was a train away from my hotel in Osaka. It took me almost an hour to get there but I did not feel the time passing as I was enjoying the view in my seat.
Before I could get to the Thousand Torii Gates, I took some pictures while walking. ☺️
I hopped off the train and followed the crowd.
I know a lot of the passengers were tourists just like me, so it was an easy walk, worrying about not getting lost, hehe. 😆
Before crossing the train tracks, I paused and took a picture of the river.
Very serene and clean. No wonder people took selfies here.
I panned on the opposite side and saw two beautiful ladies dressed in traditional clothing.
The clothing can be rented just across the street. I did not rent one because I felt hot already so maybe next time on Spring or Winter, I can rent one. 😊
I was mindful of the signs and public notices just to be extra careful.
Most were written in Hiragana or Katana, combined with my little knowledge of the language, I know what was written.
For example, this means tomare, in English it means stop. A sign near the train track.
The whole map of Fushimi Inari-taisha was posted just on the corner.
Ahhh~ it was big and I doubted if I could finish it.🥲 Well, at least I had an idea of what the place would look like.
The crowd waited for the train to pass, and yeah, all phones were up waiting to capture the perfect moment of the arrival of the train, hehe.
I had a video of myself while the train passed. Sorry, I cannot pose here! 😁
These vending machines were everywhere! ✨😍
I noticed that there were a lot of cafes and ice cream shops.
They were individual and unique, though. Owl Cafe advertising a crazy waffle. Huh… I was curious. Of course, this is a touristy spot so I expected a lot of eye-catching stuff.
Wow, costa coffee made it here. It was nice to see a foreign cafe aside from the locals. Probably some tourist prefer their coffee. ☺️
Gacha gacha store and a money exchange machine.
Gacha was popular and I too got the hype! 😆
I learned that most of the shops only accepted cash, so I always brought some cash though I have my card just in case. Here, a money exchange machine would be helpful for foreigners to have some Yen.
Small shops of variety. I only see these on Pinterest. Now, I saw them in real life! It was indeed the same as the picture. Even beautiful! 💯
A little more of a walk and I will be arriving at my destination. I already see a cluster of people and a peaking orange wood.
I knew that I was already in front of the tourist spot. But before exploring, I visited this convenience store called Daily. It was my first time seeing this brand. It was same same, to be honest, but it was a relief for most of us who were thirsty.
The sun was about to set but I was just about to enter, haha. People can hire one if they are too tired to walk around. I think this was my best capture for the day.
Finally, here I am! I can see the first torri! It was bigger in real life I tell you.
I had a fun walk seeing these before my eyes. In the next blog, I will be showing the Thousand Gates! ☺️⛩
Thanks for reading! ✨
