It was a long weekend the previous weekend due to Diwali, a festive celebration celebrated by the Hindus here in Malaysia and I was determined to not work at all throughout. I decided to go for a walk at a nearby park called Kepong Metropolitan Park which is situated 10 minutes drive from where I live.
After my long brunch meet-up with a dear friend, we both wanted to fulfill our goal of exercising hence we headed off back to our home. I was in doubt because of the weather, as it looked like a storm was brewing. By some miracle, sunlight broke through the clouds and I took it as a sign that I will be going to the park.
I went alone as my husband was nursing a sprained ankle and I didn't want him to just sit and wait for me. To me, I am okay to be alone although yes, it would be nice to have people to walk together. This alone time through the park was what I very much needed, where I get to slow down my thoughts and just not go into any deep thinking. I decided to not even put on my earphones to be conscious of really allowing my thoughts to just go to God.
Life is such where there will be times it look beautiful but beneath it, lies a whole lot of challenges and difficulties that we are made to go through and overcome. Just like the cloudy skies, there will be cloudy days yet so serene, peace in the midst of it all.
Yet, we could learn to give thanks for the things that we are blessed with in life albeit the challenges we face, as there lies beauty in every step we take.
Keep our heads down, and hearts grounded as we walk up steep hills, and never give up, especially when you're almost reaching the peak! That moment is always the toughest when we're about to reach the top.
Many times when we're going through difficult times, we have to be reminded to step back and see things from a higher perspective. It helps put things in proper perspective for us to go through this.
Life is a journey... not a destination... breathe, take one step at a time
Bridge over troubled waters... When you're weary, feeling small, When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all, I'm on your side, Oh when times get rough, And friends just can't be found, When evening falls so hard, I will comfort you, I'll take your part, Oh when darkness comes, And pain is all around, Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down - by Simon & Garfunkel
While going through troubled times, yet needing to carry on with our responsibilities and life, it is good to remember to slow down.
There's always light at the end of the tunnel and through it all, the Light is always shining down on us guiding us on every path.
We are made to fly high... and all these tough times are times of upgrading in preparation for what is to come!
No matter how tough things get, we are made for it and we have the ability and unction for it. Take time off, go for a walk, look around breathe and just get a different and new perspective to carry on. That's the beauty of life.

That is just how my brain works when I am out in nature. Somehow for some reason, when I am in nature or outdoors, I tend to get a refreshed perspective of life and what I am going through. This is definitely better than me staying at home depressed and sulking over hopelessness. Having a park to go to nearby where I live really is a huge blessing. Another thing I love doing is enjoying the different walks of life around the park enjoying one another and the activities they're doing. You can hear laughter, happy conversations, or even babies crying. It's just beautiful. And that is also very refreshing for me. I am refreshed! And ready for more walks... SOON!
Thank you @tattoodjay for creating #WednesdayWalk to enjoy the different types of walks in our lives and sharing them here.
From what I know, Malaysia has nice parks all around. It's like there's a balance between skyscraper and parks. Has it been raining lately? I keep planning to fly there but still too lazy to move these days 😅. Also don't forget to engage with other hivers too! maybe you'd get more followers and new friends. Have a great week. Cheers.
yeah it has been raining quite a bit here. It's the end of the year monsoon season and it's predicted to rain even more come November onwards. Yes, do fly over!! Malaysia is a beautiful place with lots of greenery and good food! haha...
