Walk around ~ Fort Chambrays amazing viewpoint on the island of GOZO - Malta 🇲🇹

Today’s selection of photographs will be of 11 photos 😎 they are taken all with my iPhone on 23 august 2020 on the island of Gozo that is part of the archipelago Malta 🇲🇹
I lived at that time there 1 year and we were about the move back to Spain, here we are exploring areas we haven’t explored yet. We crossed to Gozo by ferry ⛴ and stayed a while.

I will follow the time stamps on my photos for you. So it looks like you are walking along with me 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 around this fort towards the view point with amazing views 🤩 that I will show you 🥰
The towns name is Għajnsielem.

Let’s start our walk 😊

We reached a part of Fort Chambray that is located in Għajnsielem Gozo - Malta 🇲🇹

As we walk past it… we feel small as the thick walls tower high above us out.

See the layers of land on the horizon… 😉

Standing on the corner and looking up we see a corner tower.

Let’s walk towards the viewpoint now 😊

We see:

Just amazing… let me tell you what you see in this photo.
In the middle you see the smallest island Comino and Malta behind it stretching towards the right side of the photo. (Malta is the largest island)

See all the layers of land, fields with wheats.

A little bit more of the same view. See how dry it is, and if you didn’t know… Gozo is the greenest island of them all.

Here you can see the high cliffs I showed you before too in the back. They go all around the island of Gozo. Remember the post with the window in the rock formations?

Walking a bit further back we see this little path with a view towards the right of the island again.

What a view! I am always amazed at the caste/fort structures and the skill they used in constructing them The best views, the most advantageous spot (Of course! That is the whole point!)

Then, the city is built up around it in the forward life. Great pictures from so many different spots. I hope you have a great walk!

Wow the region is extremely dry, looks more like winter Africa than an island, obviously burns under the midday sun all year round.

Fort a prominent feature to enjoy, lovely photography and most enjoyable walk.

Yes, the Maltese islands are extremely dry. Unfortunately they kept building and got rid of all trees and nature. It is the 4th most densely populated place… no space for nature left.
One of the reasons we only lasted one year with the work relocation.
It wasn’t healthy all the dust from earth and building work everywhere.

The move went luckily all smoothly 🤩 yay! Now getting organised in the new house and unpacking a few boxes.

Moving is always stressful and it takes a long time to finish putting everything in its place, the good thing is that when you finish it you begin to enjoy and plan things in a new home

They were just massive, and I believe this part of the fort is not in use any longer. I couldn’t enter.
Some great corners on the islands to explore for sure. And all views are wonderful.

Wow! That Fort is impressive. I can imagine how small you must have felt. It always amazes me how thick, strong and solid they built everything back in those days.

Yes, it was soooo large, and I’m not big to start with hahaha 🤣
Walking on the road and those walls towering high above you, the towers on the edge. It is massive.
I like seeing these buildings.
This part we couldn’t visit just walk on the outside around it. But the views… stunning.

Of course, that is always a possibility l but living on the islands for 1 year was enough.

Let’s explore the rest of the world a bit more. In 2 weeks we go on our first far away holiday since the pandemic. Can’t wait… counting the days 😎😊
