Hi allšš
(Photo from a walk in June on the same path)
With this post in your community Iām joining in at the Wednesday Walk challenge and Make me Smile challenge These Challenges are hosted by @tattoodjay and @elizacheng. Have a look in the Wednesday Walk community for more info.
Today I want to share with you our Walk along the seafront from last Sunday 26 December 2021. We had rain for the last week and just got out between showers for a nice long walk.
What is so special about this walk. Let me tell you:
The MƔlaga county Council is building in the last few years and months/ years to come a boardwalk/ walking route along the coast for cyclist and walkers that is named: Senda Litoral de MƔlaga.(Malaga coastal path)
Located in the south of Spain along the coast.
It goes along 14 coastal municipalities, and is meant to connect Manilva and Nerja by means of a long path, around 200 km long!!! that goes along the entire coast. š„° This is major for the residents and tourists alike. As there are not really safe walking and cycling paths around here.
About 80% of the coastal path has already been opened to the public. You can already follow long stretches of it. The Coastal Path will be an important touristic landmark, because it will actually be possible to go from Nerja to Manilva along the coast, and this brings many opportunities for local entrepreneurs, hotels and restaurants sector, as well as for sports and active tourism industry.
They hope that this 5 year long project will finish soon.
If you want to read more about it and see a map of how much is already finished you can find all the info in this website: Official website from Senda Litoral
Let me take you now along our walk over the boardwalk, paths and sandy stretchesā¦ š
Looking the other way
As we walk further I found this tree standing all alone, braving the harsh weather.
And this one a little bit further on the left side, not sure what the purpose of it is/ will be.
And as we walk further, the path becomes sandy.
The succulents on the left are doing fine and some are even still flowering.
Through the trees we see some nice shadows and light patches appearing on the mountain in the distance.
Letās have a closer look.
By now it started raining again a littleā¦
Along the path we find:
For sunny days āļøāļøāļø
Details and texturesā¦
In the middle of the horizon, if you look very closely, you can see The Rock of Gibraltar
The weather keeps changing today and the cloud formations are rather beautiful. You can see we are walking back again by now.
Then we find a brave soulā¦ as it looks like something I havenāt seen before. The bit he has on the left side. Some kind of sailā¦ letās see. The board on the right is an hydrofoil surfboard. Ooo that could be very interestingā¦ šš
He is going in.
Sorry my next photos wonāt be so clear as itās only my phoneā¦ and he is drifting quite far away. But I will share some further.
As we can see he is trying to get ahold of the āsailā and drifts further away.
This goes on and onā¦ but he never gets himself lifted out of the water with the hydrofoil surfboard.
My photos become more and more blurrier.
I give up and tell you what happened next.
I watched for a while longer but he didnāt succeed. The wind was strong and probably wrong or the device didnāt work properly to get him out of the water. Would have been cool š to see.
But I walk further now.
A little further, we see a golden retriever in the water playing with a stick. Enjoying itself.
The clouds are getting darkerā¦ one more look over at the brave soul. Looks like he is still trying. And drifting further away. Would he have made it?
Hhhmmm canāt answer that question. Letās hope he did šš
Our last viewā¦ before we leave the path and return to the car to drive home.
The sun in the distance came through to give us this view. To say bye bye, till next time āļøš
I hope you enjoyed coming along on my third post of Wednesday Walk: along the seafront in Spain.

I love that they are building such a long walkway along the coast, and WOW it is so beautiful there and you saw so much on your walk
The Only places I have visited in Spain IS Valencia for work meetings, and Malaga on Vacation, infact I meet my wife online, she was living in Spain and me in Bosnia at the time, and the first time we meet was in Malaga so it always will have a special place in my heart ;)
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Thank you @tattoodjay. Me tooā¦. Yes itās pretty exciting to seeing it coming along. Finally people can walk and bike safely as the coast road is very dangerous. No walking paths or cycling path along it.
I can imagine that MĆ”laga has a special place in your heart now. Almost the same as my story. I met my partner here in Spain (both being expats in Spain), online. And our first date was close to Malaga on the other side of MĆ”laga, right on the map. Living for now left of it. Between Gibraltar and Malaga. I lived a little longer than 1 year in MĆ”laga itself. Beautiful cityā¦ I have fond memories there.
You are welcomeā¦šš
I love when cities give people a safe place to walk, run or cycle,
MY Wife Lived in Spain but worked in Gibraltar, before I dragged her to Bosnia and then the states, I think the area was Cadiz so Malaga is special to both of us for similar reasons
Yes, me too. Malaga is planning to build a large urban forest just above it for itās residents. On 2,000 hectare ground and planting 3 million treesā¦ looking forward to the start of it.
Funny, my partner works in Gibraltar too.
Wow thatās amazing the park they are planning loved the sound of it
What a coincidence your partner works in Gibraltar
WOW that is incredible- a 200 km coastal boardwalk! And it looks like you did quite a few kms of it yourself here too!
I think that if I was to walk along it, I would have to take lots of water, food and maybe even a tent and keep going till I got to the very end! š
So was the guy on the board trying to kite surf do you think?
I think that the Golden retriever had more success! (and fun...)
What a great walk and thanks so much for sharing as you have given me another great spot to visit on my future trip to Spain!
I send my warmest regards and biggest wishes that you, your family and friends have a wonderful, warm, safe and amazing new year filled with an abundance of love, peace, harmony, good health, much happiness and success!
With Love from Australia

Thank you so much @chocolatescorpi š
Itās amazing the walk along itā¦ any stretch, wherever you start. Maybe I will do that one day, try to walk it allā¦ once finished entirely of course. š
I donāt think he was trying to Kite surf, as he didnāt had a line on the sail to go up in the air. (The sail) I did see he had in the middle part of the sail 3 handles he was trying to hold on to. But the wind or other conditions made it very hard. He never got to stand upā¦
You are so welcome š„°
Thank you, Iām sending you and yours also all the best wishes for the New Year. With lots of love, friendliness, happiness, peace, good health, success and that all your dreams may come true.
All the way from Spain to you

I can see that boardwalk to be used for many future fundraising efforts by individuals and charities in the future too I think.
So maybe it was a prototype of a new type of water toy?
(he should have borrowed the Golden Retrievers stick...š¤£..He would've had more fun!š¤£)
Ad goodnight to you. Buenos Dias/norches!
Yes, think they will in the future.
Hahahaha he should have done that. Yep, looked like something new to me too.
Good night to you too, here itās 2 oāclock midday šāļøSo will go out for some grocery shopping in a moment. Nice talking to you š
Nice talking to you too @littlebee4 and while I bask (burn) in 30+c summer heat mid afternoon, I hope you are having wonderful dreams and I look forward to talking to you again soon. š
Thanks @chocolatescorpi š This shows again how great it is, to be able to talk to people all over the world and find out they are in the summer and I am in the winter season. š Luckily in South Spain it is this week around 20 degrees Celsius. Last week was cold and rainy.
Have a nice evening šš»
Another of the many reasons why I love HIVE! š
Buenos norches!
