One evening - with feathers, ornaments and handicrafts

The feather from the woods from the other day, that was stuck in the bush now makes sense...
I know whose feather it was.

Mine.

Of course, it was mine just in case we believe in the story of Phoenix and how that bird dies before being born again. I know, I know, it is just a myth but today I need to believe in that mythical creature. It helps me to get up and try to have a normal schedule I usually have.

A walk would be good, perfect actually, but I am also happy to share a walk that happened some ten days ago, in the town of La Nucia. There were also some feathers, used for dreamcatchers.

IMG_20231213_122742.jpg

It was a craft market that was part of the Christmas Fair organized by the town. We went there in the late afternoon when the Christmas decorations and the lights could be appreciated.

IMG_20231213_123022.jpg

The Christmas tree is in the middle of the square, in front of the church. The palm trees were also dressed in lights.

IMG_20231213_123151.jpg

The market displayed both Christmas-related items and those that we see in craft markets, regardless of the season. The items that were specially designed for the upcoming holiday were decorations for the tree, candles and even cookies. I bought one pack of this for my son.

IMG_20231213_123053.jpg

From this stall, I purchased one wallet, with a flower. After our stroll through this market, I called my son to meet him and deliver him and his girlfriend these little, unexpected gifts.

IMG_20231213_124346.jpg

The walk through the market was nice, I stopped in almost every stall and although I bought some little gifts I regret not purchasing some of these handmade ornaments. They were very cute.

IMG_20231213_124227.jpg

But to be honest, many other items were nice and cute and we can't go home packed with everything we see. And we saw also ceramic angels and little Christmas trees, warm slippers for winter days, and a lot of colourful pieces of soap and scented candles:

More of these ceramic handmade items could be seen, such as ceramic bowls and plates, jewellery, pendants, and plaques with inscriptions. These were funny: Cuidado con el dragón [Beware of the dragon] for dragon owners 😂, and Cuidado con el gato (Beware of the cat) for cat owners.

One of the things that made this market different from the others was the fact that all the items were handmade and unique. Every stall had a number and after you checked out the whole market you could vote for the most interesting items and craftsman.

All of them were so nice, but I had two favourites. The stall with the dolls was one of them. The lady who made them danced with one of the crazy, bearded dolls 😁

IMG_20231213_124032.jpg

And my other favourite was the stall with these lamps - carved pumpkins. How elegant and beautiful they are!

As it usually happens in these craft markets, you can buy some sweet treats. Cotton candy, churros or chestnuts... you all know which one is my preferred one from this offer, don't you? However, seeing the cotton candy board made me remember one of my nieces. When she was small we couldn't leave a market like this one without buying her cotton candy!

Me too. Yes, I also believe that you are the phoenix!

I really like the dreamcatchersedited. I have two.

The feathers are a bit battered because they are phoenix feathers. 😁
Truly carved pumpkin lamps are also my favorite.

Hahaha, yes, it can be seen that the feathers from your dreamcatchers are real, authentic, phoenix feathers 😁

ay espérate! puse mal atrapasueños

Tenías ya sueño, estoy segura 😂

Santa on the scooter, love it LOL, looks like poor old Rudolph is looking for a new master

😂 hahaha, those crazy bearded dolls were cool, as the owner of the stall too. She was dancing with one of them 😂

LOL, happy days

These were funny: Cuidado con el dragón [Beware of the dragon] for dragon owners 😂, and Cuidado con el gato (Beware of the cat) for cat owners.

I understand , the cuidado con el gato It is for those that are living with a cat in their house, and cuidado con el dragón , it is for those that are living with the mother-in-law in their house 😂😂😅😅

I totally love those lamp , they're super beautiful!!! 😁

Oh, you think the dragon is the mother-in-law? 😂 I didn't think bout that hahaha, but it could be 😁

😂😂😂

What do you mean the story of Phoenix is just a myth?

Haven't you seen Harry Potter?

I didn't expect that from you!!!

Joke aside that was a lovely walk, although I am sensing that you are missing #MarketFriday :)

I didn't expect that from you!!!

😱

😂

Well, I had to say it was just a myth so people in Hive don't think I am out of my mind lol. It was me today, that Phoenix, after a migraine episode that started on Monday morning.

Hmm, you are so right, we are missing the #MarketFriday event, I hope dswigle will be back one day and the community will be active again for our Friday entries. (though I posted last week something in the community 😬)

Another migraine? You mention them very often. I hope you'll find a way to get rid of them.

Yes, because they are here often hehe. I tried so many things, over all these years. Hmm, decades actually. Both conventional medicine monitored by my doctor, and alternative methods (I tried homoeopathy, acupuncture, reiki...). Also, the usual things, like being in the dark, drinking water, no noise, no smells etc when it hits 🤷‍♀️

Now I want to try another alternative thing, first I have to investigate it well and find where I can do it. Will see 😇

It looks like you have tried anything that I could suggest and even more. I have faith in homoeopathy for similar cases providing that you'll find the right physician for yourself. I know how this condition can suck the joy of life, especially when it gets chronic. You have my best wishes to defeat it even if it's not such an easy opponent as a windmill :)

Thank you 😇

Yes, not such an easy opponent as a windmill...

Wow!!! Cuanta creación y belleza. There are some really interesting crafts in your post, the leather wallets with those hand stitching and floral embellishments are so cool. The slippers look so warm, are they made of felt?

The bearded dolls are super cute! 😍

But what left me speechless were the pumpkin lamps!!!!They are beautiful!!! 😱🥰 I think if I tie myself to the creator, I'll eat him or her for questions jajajaja

It's all very pretty I love the Christmas tree lights dress in the square. Simple and beautiful. Thank you for sharing so much creativity and light.
Hope you are having a great day.

You would love this market, I am sure. Oh, I think you would be one of the artisans ;)

The slippers are made of felt, you are right. Hahaha, I can find the phone number of that artisan for you hahaha, next week they are having the market in another town, called Altea. If I gon I will tell him/her: You have a fan in Cuba :D

I would surely love that market and even more to be an artisan of those who sell there 🤣. Quién sabe?? Soñar no cuesta nada. 😆

Yeess fan to the slippers and lamps, love both products. I would be fascinated to know the process of making both.

Thanks @mipiano I'm sure I'll see another good post of yours about these Christmas markets.

I would be fascinated to know the process of making both.

So, I think I have some homework now hahaha 😂

🧐🤭😜 Curiosity, research hahahaha. Thanks 🥰.

Oh, the Christmas palms always make me laugh :))

Like this one in Llanes last Christmas:

Wow, how cute is this place from your photo!! The palm trees, yes, they always decorate them too haha 🎄

I have the same problem with the craft markets, I would take everything! Even from this selection you make, I wouldn't know what to choose if I could take only one thing. I loved the Santa Claus on Vespa, but the lamps are beautiful. I'm also tempted by hot sneakers... do you see how I can't choose just one thing? 😂

I see, I see. We can't choose just one thing... I can't even choose when I go to a coffee or pastry shop, so I think for a while what to choose 😂

I think to choose is the only task I can delegate to others. 🤣

What a beautiful Christmas fair this beautiful town (La Nucía) has, dear friend @mipiano
What a colorful and beautiful night, the fair is a unique opportunity to buy very beautiful items, the variety of products is incredible.
I'm not surprised that those two stalls are your favorites, since they are very striking, the one with the laparas is amazing
Thank you very much for sharing these striking and beautiful photographs, and this great experience in this town
have a wonderful day

All were nice, indeed there was a variety of different items. But those two stalls - special ones ;))
La Nucia is a small gem, I am glad we went there to stroll through this little market. Thank you, and a nice day to you too, @jlufer 😇

A lovely post @mipiano friend, it is a beautiful place and full of "Christmas" in the corners... Excellent photographic work in night conditions... Thanks for sharing...

@mipiano! Your Content Is Awesome so I just sent 1 $BBH (Bitcoin Backed Hive) to your account on behalf of @jlinaresp. (3/5)

Last year we visited so many Christmas markets... I hope to continue the tradition :D
Thank you @jlinaresp, for all your nice words 😇

Oh what a nice place. I love the crafts. That pen should be mine, sorry for that, for wanting to take my identity. It's just that if it were mine at least in another life I know I visited Spain. I love all the stalls but my favorite is the one with the lamps. The dolls are cute and the basijas the same. Thanks for sharing this nice walk.

The feather can be shared, by all those who have their own story for it :)
So, for you it was a sign you were here in some other life. For me, it was a sign to get up from the ashes. :))

Oh, the lamps were gorgeous <3

I fell in love with the lamps, I'm telling you, I fell in love, what an absolute beauty. Everything is great but that.... I want one!

It's a wonderful walk full of lights, art, joy, it's great. Thanks @mipiano!❤️

This craft market will be held next weekend in Altea. I think it will be the same, the same association of craftsmen. So, you know were these lamps can be found this weekend :D

You're tempting me! hahaha I really liked it!🤣

So many cute things there! But you’re right, we can’t buy everything we like or else we would have no room to move in our houses 😂

I must agree with you - the stand with lamps is my favourite too. They’re simply adorable and each one is different and special 😍
!ALIVE

@mipiano! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @ fantagira. (1/10)

Yeah, no room in our home and no money in our wallets anymore 😂

The carved lamps are the absolute winners here in this post :))

Now thatI'm back, I kinda miss these Christmas fairs. There's literally nothing happening in the city I stay in :/ let alone a whole market. I love the lamp! It's so cool.
Did you ask if the sellers made the ceramic items at home? I watched how they are made and its not for everyone to do...

Hm, not much happening in my town either, so we go around in other towns and catch what we can :D
Sometimes with success and other times without hahaha

What a lovely market @mipiano, handmade goods really are the best, and so at home in an open market like that!
Those lamps are absolutely beautiful, and to think it's carved from pumpkins, super creative!

Yes, those carved pumpkins - lamps were wonderful. There was a possibility to vote for the artisan and the item the visitors loved the most, I didn't vote but I hope that this stall with the lamp won. Although the one with the dolls was great too... so, hard to decide 😅

I agree, it would be very difficult to choose as the dolls are so quaint, a very different kind of artistry, someone with a very good sense of humour!

Very very beautiful photos Mipiano! Whenever I see a souvenir shop I want to buy so many things but I never have enough money to afford them all. Even if I had the money, what would I do with it all :P

Thank you, very very much @incublus 😇

A good combination would be having the money, buying some items and support the local artisans and then gift these unique items as a Christmas gift to friends and family 😇

Exactly, supporting locals is important :)

Since I commented on your post Scenes from the forest I told you that this feather fell from the sky for you. I really like the dream catchers and I am going to buy one, I also like the little witches in fact I have one. What a beautiful craft fair and you don't have to be there to appreciate in your photos the incredible objects that the artisans exhibit and make with their own hands. I'm a fan of your posts. Good day @mipiano.🥰❤️✨💫🕊️

That feather had to be there, indeed. Thank you @mamani, I am really glad you enjoy Hive and the posts you read, among them my posts too. Gracias 😇

That ride was very nice. I am admiring the dolls on motorcycles. Those artisan artists are very creative. The truth is that in that fair there you can fill your backpack with objects to take home, but then where do you put them, better to enjoy them there and take only a few. Here soon there is a fair but it will be an odyssey to buy something different. If you want read @yventura in his last post and find out. Greetings, your post is very nice.

An artisan has to be creative, I suppose, as all they make has to be born first in the mind :))

Thank you @juliom, greetings 😇

It was a very nice walk, seeing all of those handmade crafts, I totally get the feeling of wanting to buy everything 'cause all looks so cute, but of course, one has to decide what to buy carefully and it's great that you decided to use it as gifts for your son. This kind of markets are very common in my country 🇨🇺, and kids (and grown ups too) love the cotton candy.
PS: I love the details of the carved pumpkins turned into lamps, what a fine job 👌

Nice to hear that these kind of markets are very common in your country. I have no doubts about that, with so many talented people in Cuba. :)

Wao! This looks so beautiful and lovely. Christmas is actually going well here. The Christmas tree looks so beautiful. Merry Christmas in advance.

Merry Christmas in advance to you too ;)

Thanks sis

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)

And thank you for this lovely community 😇

totally my pleasure
sorry d=for the shorter than normal comment its a crazy day for me today

Wow how nice all the things in that Crafts market, I also liked the lamps very much. How nice that you enjoyed the cotton candy. Best regards🤗💐💐

It is my niece who likes cotton candy. I like chestnuts. ;)

🤣🤣🤗🤗

There were a Lot of interesting things in that market! You brought My infancia memories back with the cotton candy😃!

Cotton candy - you can also have it, as an adult.
I think no age limit for that 😁

We loved to see it too. Seems that it is approaching 🎄

Your Wednesday walk brought back very nice memories, my first dreamcatcher was a gift from my grandmother 🤍

Glad it brought you back some memories 😇

I love the christmas vibes there !!

Omg take me there! Everything looks so cute and so hand made!!! Like purely you can see the style of people just loving crafts there.
I love the lamps!! Marvellous
🤗

This weekend it is in Altea, a craft market - I think the same artisans, or many of them will be again there. Jump over here, quickly 😇

There are many benefits to events like this, people get a lot of enjoyment out of going here, seeing a lot of new things, the way we're seeing a lot of good lighting.
