They were my best company

Who likes to walk while it is raining? I know, I would not melt with a bit of rain. Also, there are some inventions, like the umbrella and waterproof boots, so a walk would really not be a problem this Wednesday. But it is already happening for a few days, I haven't seen the blue sky and sun. Just for a short time, and then it starts to rain again. We would see here just grey scenes, wild sea with big waves. Enough reasons why these cute horses from a walk some time ago are coming now to my #Wednesdaywalk.

A walk that happened maybe some two weeks ago, I am not really sure. Many animals crossed my path, horses, donkeys, goats, a cat and caterpillars. Yes, I know, I took the photos of the caterpillar's nests after @edprivat posted those photos with Pine Processionary caterpillars. Yes, I checked it now, it was one week ago.

Clear skies with the sun, adorning it. And bringing some spring vibes, that is how this walk felt like. I managed to have some free time (not to exaggerate, some two hours) and it was spent on getting a bit out from the routine. When you want to be efficient and do all the tasks that have to be done, you forget about yourself and things that are good for your health. For example, a walk where you can just breathe and not work around anything. Trying even not to think about anything :)

Seeing these cuties was also great. One donkey and two horses in one yard. I like to connect with them, and at least greet them. Letting them sniff my hand and cuddle their snout became the tradition. Well, not with these, as I saw them for the first time. However, with cats and goats, I already made friends.

IMG_20220218_112307.jpg

I didn't have anything to offer them as a snack, so they got bored from just cuddles. They walked away from the fence letting me know: bring next time some yummy snacks.

IMG_20220218_112321.jpg

Accepting the reality they don't need my attention anymore, I had no other choice than walk away too. I search for the next creature maybe? Four-legged one, if I can set preferences. Voila: a cat hiding in the top of a fence and behind some branches. It was not scared and I already know this cat. It likes cuddles, but this time it was impossible to reach it. It was not in the mood to come down closer to me. Well, cuddles maybe the next time, kitty?

Oh, we are here to meet those caterpillars. Not some good ones, so I will not cuddle them. I suggest you don't do it either when you meet this variety, Pine Processionary caterpillars. Their hair is toxic and can be dangerous for children and pets when getting in touch. Every spring we see so many of these nests.

IMG_20220302_112210.jpg

They are active and toxic exactly in these times, during the spring. You can see sometimes a long procession formed by the fully-grown caterpillars when they come out to search soil, bury themselves and form cocoons.

When a dog inhales their hair, it can get an allergic reaction, swollen tongue and can end badly. Many dogs, if not noticed in time, die. If they are lucky and the owner notices the problem on time, the veterinarian's help should be sought immediately.

IMG_20220302_112153.jpg

Some nasty creatures, right?

Anyway, we better move forward and meet our last visitors in this post. The goats that we all already know very well. They are actually in a different path, not close to the horses/donkey/cat gang. They have their shelter close to the river, and whenever we walk there I see them and try to greet them. No cuddles this time. The small ones were playing and jumping around and the adults were not interested in me. No food - no snout to be cuddled. I guess I have to take with me always some veggies, just in case. If I am hungry or I meet them.

The plot where they live looks a bit like a mess. But what do I know? Maybe a great place for goats has to look like this. They have some piles of firewood where they climb and jump around, food and water.

My friends, that are veterinarians said the goats look healthy. Let us trust them, they are the professionals in the field. I am just someone who likes to find time to take a walk and have good company as these animals. What better than bringing it to the #wednesdaywalk initiative?

thank you @brumest 😇 and qurator team 🐴🐐

so sweet 🙂

Yes, they were so sweet indeed :)
Thank you for stopping by @veliozdemiroglu 👋

So many wonderful animals @mipiano now that is my kind of #wednesdaywalk well done and thanks for sharing.

They are gorgeous, indeed :)

Thank You for checking out 😇

Looks like gremlin will come out of that cocoon (scary).

But donkey is sooooo cute, such a sad innocent eyes.

hahaha, just a brownish moth will come out from the pupae. They are not harmful in that stage.

The donkey was a sweetheart, indeed 😍

Thanks for sharing, I have no doubts my curios fingers would touch this fluffy ball in case I bumped on it. 😂

I kinda know you have curious fingers... always some mushroom arts coming from you :D))

The horses cat and goats are so so cute I do agree
and I to dont walk much in the rain unless I have to, I hate using an umbrella, and I like walking with my camera and dont like taking it out in the rain

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Haha, yes when you just walk it is still ok, but using the camera and having a pleasant walk while raining is a bit more difficult.

Luckily, until now the sun came out and the rainy days seem that are over :)

Ohh yes very true
I hope you have menu sunny days ahead

I hope too :))

Awwww donkeysssssss
When I grow up I will get myself one :p

We have those nasty caterpillars here too. Impossible to find a pine tree that doesn't have the cocoons on.

Yes, donkeysss ( well not sure if it was just one donkey and I am confusing them with horses. Anyway, they are cute :)

Please, never grow up :D But I hope you can have one day a donkey 😇

Wow, those nasty caterpillars are all over now. Even in France and northern places in Europe, not just here in the south anymore. Or they adapt better or it is indeed warmer in general.

How cute are those horses and donkey. Aaawwww
Good you went out a little bit for you time. A breath of fresh air and some animal cuddles. Do wonder.

The cat is playful, you can almost see it in its eyes. To bad it didn’t want to come down this time, maybe next time.

Yes, those caterpillars… dangerous and harmful for humans and animals. They are here too in the trees. We always stay far away from them. Especially as they start coming out of the nests and walk in a very long line.

Great photographs @mipiano 😊☀️ With better weather then the last days, just like here.

Usually, the cats come and I like to cuddle them. This one I already cuddled a few times, when he was outside on the street. Now he liked more to be there, up in the branches hahaha.

This variety of caterpillars can be found everywhere. Good, you know about them to stay away. Those long lines are interesting though, how they can manage to go all together in a line. Amazing nature!

When I was young I love to walk in the rain, once I got older I walked away from the good things
You are a woman with privileges, how good it is to be able to walk and meet so many beautiful and affectionate animals along the way, I am a fan of horses, not so of goats, having a garden is a danger for them, these animals can finish an orchard in one morning
What a beautiful hike, thank you so much for sharing
have a great dayHello dear friend @mipiano good morning

Hi

Walking in the rain can be an exciting activity, I agree. Wanting to take some photos is not anymore that exciting, as one has to have a good camera or everything will be just greyish colours in the images.
Yes, I live in a nice place. Always finding a cat to cuddle or seeing some horses through the fence.
The goats can make damage, but also they can help you, you will not have grass or any unwanting plant in your garden. Well, good plants either hahah

I love to walk when it rains, I enjoy the calmness and how most time, I can be the only one in the streets, people often look at me crazy though 😆

Anyways, these are so many animals, some I haven't even seen before, I enjoyed this.

My niece was dancing in the rain one year when it was summer and rained after a long time. I understand you and I would join you in the walk, so two of us could be crazy :D

There is no one ill rather be called crazy with 😊

😋 😊

Looks like a nice walk in the sun. Booooo to the rainy season.

My wife and I love donkeys. I don't know why but they seem more unique than a horse. Maybe because we generally see them less frequently.

That's a lot of goats. Wow! The pen does look a bit of a mess but as long as the goats are happy that's all that matters really.

They maybe look more innocent, as someone above said in the comments. And that one came first to the fence and was not scared or shy.

Yes, the place of the goats... maybe they just have to live like that hahah. My friends know better how to determine if an animal is healthy or not, and when their reaction was: wow, they are in a so good shape, I was calmer :))
They indeed must be happy ( the goats )

Love the farm animals, so thanks for sharing @mipiano

They are interesting! When we come close to teh fence, they also come to see us (probably as they are waiting if there is some snack for them :D )

And we are off to yet another walk but this time, we are going to be in good company of some animals 😊

I took a walk around my house just to ease of stress and appreciate nature’s breeze that blew across my skin..

These walks are a necessity indeed 💕
Thank you for taking me along this walk with you 🤗🤗

Yes, another walk, this time with them, with animals :)

It is indeed so necessary to go out, do nothing just be, just walk, enjoy the breeze, nature or animals. We all know that, but still, we find so little time to do this activity.

You are most welcome, then You from coming with me :)

It is indeed so necessary to go out, do nothing just be, just walk, enjoy the breeze, nature or animals.

I find peace the more I do this too 😊
I am learning to just chill with nature.

🌴🌳- trying to bring nature here :D
but not many options

Oh, I see...

I find this publication beautiful, the kind I enjoy the most with nature and animals, all very beautiful by the way.

Did you know that male goats can fall in love with females?

hahahahahaha that's what my grandmother and my mom who are from the countryside say, I experienced it once and that male goat made me run enough.

It must be something hormonal that attracts them, thanks for taking me for a ride this Wednesday. @mipiano

My dear @soyunasantacruz

😆🥰 @mipiano

I really admire how you were able to touch the horses. It was so fun the first time I rode a horse, although I was scared to ride alone but it was fun.

I really like animals and cuddling them, so horses are not excluded :))
