I just did my weirdest Wednesday walk! At an abandoned place, not really sure where, as didn't check the exact location when I stepped out of the car. As you might know (or probably not), I am on a road trip, for the third day in a row. We have already driven some 2.300 km since Monday morning and stopped in some nice places in France and Italy (but the reports about those are not coming today).
Right now, my view is something like the photo above. Well, there is much much more, I really like these adventures when we travel and I feed my eyes with beautiful landscapes - mountains, sea, fields, cities, villages... And actually, my view also goes to the screen of the phone while I am uploading these photos and writing these lines. It is a pretty slow process, working on something from the phone while paying attention to the GPS at the same time sitting in the car sailing the roads (at least, it is not me driving :D )
So, back to the abandoned place and my Wednesday walk. We stopped at this former resort on the highway to stretch out our legs. This building is no longer in operation. It looks like this used to be a bar or a small shop, and there was also a gas station nearby. Across the highway, there is a gas station that still seems to be open.
There is plenty of greenery, trees and bushes, but also small paths and benches with tables. Seems like designed for a picnic area or for travellers who want to stop, rest and eat something. It is a pity the small shop doesn't work and this (could be nice) place is not used how it was planned. Nobody was there except us.
I noticed some covered bench & table areas too, with a cute roof. Many of them, so I am not sure if the architects of the place were too optimistic that there would be so many people resting here, or they just had excess material so they could build more of these lunch areas. Anyway, I liked them.
I also liked this meadow, with the cut grass. Looks like someone is maintaining this place after all. So I walked there up and down, getting my body moved. Well, I also run there, not having anyone around to ask itself what this person is doing in an abandoned place, running up and down on a meadow.
Down, behind the fence, I saw one hay bale, in this rounded shape. I really find them pretty and interesting, seeing them all around in the fields during the summer period. Though it was strange what this lonely hay bale was doing there. Just one, probably cut grass collected from the meadow (or maybe the space outside the fence).
Cute, isn't it?
The next object is a mystery. I don't know what it is, seriously. Hrvatske autoceste, it means Croatian highways (as yes, it was somewhere in Croatia) but I would not be able to say to you what this thing is supposed to do. Any idea what it could be?
P.S. at the end, I finished this post with a delay and not when I started to write it this early afternoon, as there was one closed road so we had to find an alternative and also a car crash that caused a traffic jam so my attention had to be somewhere else.
Hey, did you call SailingRoads™? 🤣
We are happy that the journey is going well (despite traffic jams)
The steel column looks like an off computer terminal... maybe some kind of speed camera? 😕
Wishing you a happy holiday!
Hahaha, sailing the roads, kind of borrowed the expression from someone and blended into my storyline 😂😂😂
Maybe it had to show the map...? The roads? Online traffic situation?
Speed camera for the space shuttle 😜
Luckily, it doesn't work, so all good 😊
I know this is not the theme of your post but 2.300 km in three days?
Are you chased by someone? I am worried :)
Hahahaha, your comment made me laugh so much 😂😂
It was 2.300 in that moment... Later we continued and added more km 😂
The feeling that road trips wakes up is amazing make you feel so alive and like you say, the next object is a mistery and I agree that is what gonna make you feel alive the taste of uncertainty
The feeling of being awake because of excitement and being dead tired at the same time 😂
What I can see is the place for inserting bank card, my interest disappeared instantly 🤣
Possibly for getting help on the road, but still not sure and who cares look around, smells like summer. :D
Hahaha, I highly doubt you would have to use a bank card there, so no worries :))
But who knows for what is that thing...
To find the path to our destination...? Maybe, as we arrived safely 😊
WELCOMEEEE HOME! :)))
Thanks 😊
See you soon ☀️
it's weird how all this infrastucture exists in such a well maintained state with nobody actually using it... well, nobody except for yourself :P
onwards to more adventures!
It is a highway that is not finished. I think it had to go up until Budapest, but they have never finished it. However, the infrastructure was done with these gas stations and rest areas with bar-restaurant-shop facilities. And also closed, as people were not used that frequently this highway.
But it was perfect for us taking a small relax time 😊
You are indeed an adventurous soul 🤩🤩😍🤩 which means you are a lovely of nature and the simple things too. I can imagine how satisfying that must be for you...all these road trips. Can I tag along? 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣 I don't mind staying in the trunk.
Hahaha, the trunk is full already 😂
However through Hive we can all travel together!
Yes, these trips are satisfying, but also a bit exhausting. But worth of doing them of course :)
😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣 I guess I will choose the Hive route then. Absolutely, they can be exhausting but always worth it. Thank you 🤗
That’s an impressive road trip glad your weren’t preparing a blog while driving
Those hay rolls are cool
As fir the strange object I suspect it’s a frame and cover fir a pay phone but I could be wrong
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Hahaha, yes, I was not driving while writing this 😉 just enjoying the ride :D
Hmm, I think it's not meant to be a phone, I also thought it would be one but then there are missing parts.
Unfortunately for me my wife doesnt drive so I do all the driving at times I wish she did as I see sights I would love to get photos of LOL
I love everything I see, it is synonymous with a lot of peace and tranquility, however, it reminds me a lot of the post apocalyptic setting of The Walking Dead 😅!!!!
Very beautiful landscapes and you as always taking spectacular photos; I loved that clear sky and that vegetation, I assume that the temperature could be a little above 30 degrees by the color of the vegetation and the type of plants you see !!!!
Now with your cell phone you can know what are certain objects just by taking a picture of them, through Google Lens, that comes built in your browser and its icon is next to the microphone, you can translate in real time and know what you are seeing too, it's very good that extension of the Google browser app; I took a picture of your picture and apparently it can be a water dispenser or a method to pay the toll when you are near one and want to pass faster, at least that's what I could get, but if you take the picture and consult Google Lens will be more accurate the result for you 👍😉!!
I am very glad that everything is going well in your trip dear friend 💖, I wish you all the best, enjoy a lot, you deserve it, blessings to you and your family 🙏💞, I send you a big hug 🙌😀💛!!!!!
Oh no, it reminds you of an apocalyptic scene? 😱 😂
Hahaha, I vote for the peace and tranquillity part, though some scary things have to be brought too. 😂
Very good guess, the temperature was indeed around 30 degrees!! Well, you have been always good at guessing in my posts :D
You see, there are things I didn't think about. To check it through google lens?! Well done @fernanblog! Paying the tolls... it could be a good answer!
Thank you for stopping by and for your time to check out the mysterious object :))
The true Wonder Woman doing her things are bringing the bright days on HIVE. It's been a long time. Perhaps all this sawdust prevents me from being to active but, alas, here I am.
Cool trip! I remember taking those when I was younger. Good thing you can keep up with the posting while en-route. It looks like a nice place. I bet it uses to be a lively place before the pandemic, but it looks too well for being abandoned. Maybe there's hope it will be filled with people again. But who knows?
I love the hay roll. Weren't you tempted to push it? I would have don't ask why. 🤣🤣🤣
It must be the dust from the luthier workshop, I agree :)
But you are here now, so that's what counts!
You were taking trips when you were younger... this tells me I am still young hahaha
Just if the highway is fully finished, as it stops at one point, so people didn't use this highway very often.
Maybe :D But I could not reach it, it was behind the fence...
I bet you have a young soul. All my road trips are from before my 20S. So, I can't actually tell. 🤣
The highway isn't finished? I thought that was a latin problem. Seems these kind of stuff happens every where. Hopefully, it will be compleat in some years.
Bah, that ruins all the fun!
Certainly, I'm working on a lot of projects and that's kept me busy. However, I'm trying to work on my comments. It's been fun so far. And I couldn't miss my favorite pianist in the world! ✨✌🏻
Maybe :D
Hahah, it ruins it indeed.
But you know what, I am seeing now so many of these hay rolls so I am really tempted to climb to one and maybe try to push it ;D
😇😇😇
You could try rolling on the hay roll. It could be dangerous, but that's half the fun! However, maybe just stay on the ground and roll it. Those hands are too precious to get injured.
Ok, the hands will try to stay without any injury :))
Yay! Don't be like me. I got a cut on my left thumb yesterday. 😂
Its a pretty nice spot and we'll maintained for being abandoned. To me the mystery object looks like an old ticket machine - like what you would see at a busy or tram stop to buy tickets. Or maybe an information kiosk. Just my guess.
A ticket machine. Sounds good.
There are so many guesses now, I think that the company should listen to the comment section of this post and make of that mystery thing something that was "offered" here :))
if you get to ancona, look us up {smile}
It was Vicenza two days ago... not around there anymore :|
And what a trip you guys are on. Wonderful to see you covered already so much Km.
Those hay bales are fun to see around fields and make great subjects to photograph.
The metal thing… could it be a route map for guidance. You put in some coins and it tells you the route? But further not sure what it could be. It has a screen… so maybe some info. Or a phone line out when help is needed with car problems.
Enjoy your trip further @mipiano 👋🏻😁 take care all and stay safe!
Hi little girl 😉
Welcome home from Paris!
In the meantime we started our trip, so yeah, Spain is now a bit far away from me 😁
Yes, you could be right, that it could maybe show the map, or route or traffic, I also think similarly
Thanks a lot for stopping by @littlebee4 :)) 🤗
Hi @mipiano 👋🏻😁

You're welcome @mipiano! Have a nice weekend 🌹🌹🌹
I congratulate you for your courage to go to this strange and uninhabited place. This place was more scary and i think it is a suitable location for making horror films and i hope your post will introduce a new location for horror genre filmmakers🤡👽👹
Yeah, I know, it would be a good place for a horror movie, though it was at the same time a peaceful place 😇
wow, you have very beautiful photos, keep on working in your field I really like your photos
Thanks for stopping by and your comment :)
Wuaoooo que lugar tan hermoso un día también algo accidentado.
Sí, un poco accidentado pero ha servido bien para descansar :))
How could such an idyllic resting place have failed?, Or did someone think the middle of nowhere would be fine as in the movie of Field of Dreams "Build it and he will come" But I like the strange feeling you captured!
I think I missed some comments... Well, to tell you the truth, I don't have good internet where I am right now... just mobile data, so it's a bit challenging 😂
{I miss our Spanish super fast fibra óptica }
I am glad you liked the feeling that this place gave :))
