Wednesday Walk at the Warm Mineral Springs

in Wednesday Walk2 years ago (edited)

The Warm Mineral Springs can be found on North Port, Florida and is open every day except Christmas. There is a fee to get in which is $20 for visitors and $15 for residents. They also offer packages if you plan on visiting more often. This spring has one of the highest mineral content for springs on the United States and stays at around 85°F all year long. It still felt cool to us with the temperature in the mid 90s.

The front of the complex is nicely done with a tile mosaic and some signage with information about the spring at the entrance. The buildings are currently undergoing renovations and they are using a trailer and portable toilets.

There is also a fountain in front with lily pads and a bunch of dragonflies flying around.

I didn't snap any photos with my phone of the gift shop which you have to go through to get to the spring. We paid the fee and went through the door and were greeted with a strong smell of sulfur. We were used to it by the time we left, but it is a mineral spring. There is a some cool wall art when you first go outside.

I imagine this place is a lot busier during the winter months, but there were still a lot of people enjoying the mineral springs. We walked around to the other side of the spring to find a chair. Most of the people stayed on the other side.

So relaxing to kick the feet up.

It feels very secluded here with the pine trees towering over the spring on one side.

There are 2 lifeguard towers but there was only one working this day.

The spring is fed from underground and creates this stream that drains out.

The trees here provide a lot of shade for the time you are out of the water.

This lone palm even provides a dense amount of shade.

The water was very refreshing and felt cool and nourishing. The sun was quite intense so we went back and forth between the water and the shade. I did take a walk around the beautifully kept land and loved the blooming flowers.

There are reds.

Oranges.

Yellows.

Purples

This curly bloom is my favorite!

Whites

Pinks

Even some really cool plants without blooms.

I love bamboo!

Finally, I had to get a picture with this adorable baby palm tree.

If you ever find yourself in southwest florida, I recommend checking out this gem. Thanks for joining me on this walk and look forward to hearing what you enjoyed most about it.

And the warm springs… nice capture of the area.
It reminds me of my visit to some clear springs higher up in Florida almost 10 years ago.
There you could go on boats with glass bottoms, it wasn’t for swimming. If I remember correct.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a great day/evening 👋🏻😊So much beautiful flowers, stunning @nebraskadean 😊

All of the springs are clear and beautiful and most are not for swimming I'm guessing because of the gators. The glass bottom boats are so cool to go on!

Yes, of course… probably because of the gators 🐊
They are cool 😎
Have a wonderful weekend 👋🏻
