Wednesday Walk from the Jetty to the Drum Circle

Greetings Hivians!! I am grateful to have you join us on this beautiful sunset #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay here on Nokomis Beach. We are starting at the North Jetty. We noticed a storm coming in from inland when we arrived.

This storm cloud had multiple layers to it and it seemed to be heading our way. We felt that it would probably miss us, though, as we've heard multiple stories about how this beach is protected by the ancestors of the Nokomis tribe. We shall see if the storm reaches us or not.

The Jetty is a short walk from here and the sky is relatively clear this direction. There are always unexpected treasures we see whenever we go to the beach at sunset. Tonight certainly delivered.

First we are greeted by a little blue heron.

Followed shortly after by an Egret on the rocks.

At the end of the Jetty we get to marvel in the joy of watching 10 brown pelicans fishing.

This one must have been very efficient at catching its dinner as it joined us on the walkway to dry off its feathers.

We took this opportunity to get a photo with 4 of the hooligans.

Time to head over to the drum circle and we look up and see the dark clouds getting closer. I don't feel its going to get us, do you?

Looking across the channel you can see the South Jetty and the condos lining Venice Beach.

The Florida sunsets are almost always stunning. Tonight definitely delivers a magnificent view.

There are also some amazing houses along this stretch of beach.

The blue of this house blends well with the colors of the sky.

There is a lively game of 2 on 2 volleyball going on.

Did I mention the grandeur of the sunset? Here's another pic...

The sound of the drums is starting to get louder as we pass this empty lifeguard tower.

We finally make it to the drum circle. We have been looking forward to this as we each experienced some deep healing, uncovering fears that have been buried since childhood.

Barefoot on the sand, we allow our bodies to flow with the beat of the drums. There are quite a few people here, many wearing fun outfits.

Dancing is a wonderful expression of self.

There are at least 20 drums and also rattles and shakers.

The drummers play well together and everyone here enjoyed the performance.

The storm did pass right on by and went north.

The drum circle here happens every Wednesday and Saturday before sunset.

The dancing and vibrations of the drums were exactly what we called for. We were both relaxed and full of blissful peace as we walked back to the car.

We passed some boys skim surfing.

I am so happy you joined us on this pleasant Wednesday Walk. Thank you!

See you next week!

Also, if you would like to listen to the drums I recorded about a minute of it. It is a little windy but the drums come through pretty well.

What a beautiful walk
Where I lived prior to moving here had regular drum circles on the beach one day a week if I remember correctly on a Thursday that had a fairly big turn out I often would swing by and enjoy the sounds and feeling of it

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

It is nice to have them regularly. Chicago only had it once a month through the summer but the turnout was in the hundreds and could be quite overwhelming.

They are such a cool thing to see and experience I think our one, well theone I saw wasnt that big maybe 100 or so people at max

Lots of pelicans there. This means that the sea has a lot of fish.
