Well, let's go for a walk together!? Are you also looking forward to Wednesday to share another cool place you've explored ?
Today I will talk about Antalya - the most of all the cities where I practiced my driving during my #thelongestrip

It was a new challenge for me! If you haven't followed my journey from the beginning, I'll remind you: I got behind the wheel for the first time in Kemer.
It was spring when we came to Turkey. But I was afraid to go to Antalya! The time came when I felt confident to go to a big city. Driving on the road to Antalya is so interesting and pleasant that we began to enjoy our walk already behind the wheel of the car, watching incredibly beautiful clouds on the tops of the mountains!

So, we parked in the old town on the main avenue, which runs in an arc between ancient and modern buildings, where the tall palm trees on either side of the tram track make a very beautiful picture!
My daughter Victoria said: it reminds me of Bangkok :) Although she herself doesn't know why :)

I really like old houses. I stopped at one that had pink walls and beautiful tall windows with white frames around them and wooden shutters. Balconies projecting outside the house were also characteristic of ancient Turkish architecture.
One man told me: the land tax was expensive and people were building balconies on the second floor. The housing area became larger, but then there was no need to pay tax.

Next, we came to the wall of pigeons near the famous Hadrian's Gate.
This gate is a kind of business card of the old city of Antalya. It smells of history...

Hadrian's Gate(Turkish: Üçkapılar, meaning "The Three Gates") is a triumphal arch located in Antalya, Turkey, which was built in the name of the Romanо emperor Hadrian, who visited the city in the year 130. It is the only remaining entrance gate in the walls that surround the city and harbor.

I called this wall near the gate - the wall of pigeons. Look at this miracle! A large number of pigeons are sitting on only one wall. You can see this grand spectacle on video:

Returning to the quiet street, I was fascinated by the harmonious combination of ancient buildings and modern design elements!

We got hungry and went to a familiar cafe, which was shown to us by one of our friends back in the summer, who then organized a tour of the old city of Antalya for the first time.

This Luna Garden cafe is arranged in the open air and stands out from all other food establishments with its originality and creativity.
Soft sofas are located under thatched roofs. And waiters serve customers, moving on rollers!

It has a nice menu. We ordered traditional Turkish tea, some salads and Dibek Turkish coffee. By the way, I really like this coffee!

While drinking coffee, I remembered our summer excursion. Then our friend took us to the observation deck, where there were beautiful views of the harbor...

In an amazing way, this city combines antiquity and modernity! I will tell about this walk through the old city of Antalya in a separate post.

Later, we walked the streets of Antalya, discovering its interesting nooks and crannies. Unlike the bright central avenue, you can see here houses that are already in need of repair.
These are the real finds that are remembered the most!

I'm glad you liked my walk :)

Good morning!
Remarkable place! Every place is so beautiful. I like these pictures it seems like Dreamland. I love to eat so like your menu.
Thanks for sharing your trip.

If we find a good place to eat with good prices, our trip is twice as enjoyable :)

In which part of Antalya were you? I think I didn't visit the gate which looks very historical in the heart of the city. I remember those mountains, they seem just amazing together with the clouds :)

Have a good day!

This is an old city. Hadrian's Gate.

It is so weird how the birds are attracted only to just one wall, another lovely place to visit.

Does it look weird to you too!? Unfortunately, I could not ask the Turks about this phenomenon :)

yes, whay just that part of the wall and nowhere else is interesting....and weird

Oh wao what a wonderful places you have shared with us. I want to visit this place because natural beauty always attracts the people's. Your style and smile both are impressive. Thanks for joining the Wednesday, I always love seeing all the walks shared from around the world, but as I am not getting out for as many walks at the moment because of feeling the cold I am especially loving the walks all around the world its like a virtual world tour

I agree with you. In the cold season, we have more time to enjoy travel posts and dream of doing some of them in the summer :)

Hadrian's gate looks awesome !!! I love Roman history. And the harbour looks really nice too - it looks lovely there !!!

Чудова подорож!!! Я в перший раз бачу, щоб голуби сиділи на стіні!))) Але їм, здається, це подобається!)))

Мене теж здивувало: чому голуби обрали лише одну стіну :)

I have just stared at all of your photos, studying each one of them in awe as I am sooo keen to get to Turkey one day.

I fell in love with it while watching a couple of netflix dramas and have been obsessed with it ever since and funny I was just talking to a friend about it 10mins ago as I was introducing him to the soundtracks to these shows and saying how much I can't wait to get there!

I am sooo jealous of you!

But congratulations with the driving!
I love driving, but them when you're driving instead of being the passenger, you miss out on seeing all of the amazing views around you! (unless ofcourse, you have time to stop ad can find a place to stop on the side of the road when you see something that you want to photograph...)

Turkey is indeed a very multifaceted and interesting country. It has a beautiful climate, breathtaking natural beauty and many ancient finds. I wish you to fulfill your dream trip!
