I spent a week of my Christmas holidays with my friend's family in Finland. Last Wednesday Nadezhda and Toivo, her husband, drove me to a lovely place not far from the village where they live. We left the car and had a short walk along the river.
The day was sunny, but in the north it becomes dark early. You will also see fog lying in some places on the river water. This winter has been snowy in our countries - Finland and Estonia, it makes landscapes very beautiful, especially in forested areas.
Toivo told me that there was a big woodworking and pulp and paper factory here, and they used this river for timber rafting and transportation of their products. The factory was closed some years ago. Many people lost jobs in the result...
The area near the river is equiped for people to walk and have some rest when they are tired or just want to enjoy the beautiful view.
There is also a place equipped for washing and drying carpets. It is typical for Finland, I cound see them in many other places, even in towns near rivers or lakes. Very convenient, isn't it?

There are small hills everywhere around, or they are most likely huge stones which time covered with soil and then trees settled on them.

Что могу сказать. Классная прогулка получилась! Солнечный день, река и снег - это замечательное сочетание.
Но название реки не увидел. :) Но хорошо, что имееется сервис pinmapple! А ведь я был почти в этом месте! Во всяком случае, в 2017 году, я проезжал по этой дороге.
Мда. Это было уже более 5 лет назад. И казалось, чот впереди всё будет прям замечательно и я с дочками еще побываю не один раз в Финляндии. А еще меня тогда приглашал товарищ посетить Ригу.
Эх....
Спасибо на добром слове! Прогулка была чудесной, это правда. А вот с местом на карте я промахнулась, как - сама не знаю. Заметила сейчас, когда стала название реки смотреть, а исправить уже, похоже, не получится. На самом деле река Kymijoki, недалеко от поселка Myllykoski, а меня северней занесло 😁.
Что будет всё замечательно - давайте дружно верить. Хочу пожелать Вам и Вашей семье, чтобы мечты сбывались и задуманные путешествия осуществлялись ❤️! С наступающим 🎄!
