For delving deep
there is nothing as transforming
as a walk on a Wednesday
just outside my front door
whirligigs
festoon
my garden bench
Twenty years and counting
I still wonder what this is
right outside my front door.
I feared
these peppers
would never turn red,
their sun blocked
by an infestation of tomatoes,
now going to seed
The peppers take the stage

Come closer,
then closer still,
fall into sensuousness
and be still
How low must you go,
nearer and nearer to the essence of you,
to hear your angels sing?
copper
just copper
dream
It's been a long time since my last entry for a Wednesday Walk hosted by @tattoodjay . I had forgotten how lovely these walks are, how closely they make me look, how easily I fall into an unexpected and pleasurable mood. This is a series of shots taken on one turn around my house, and are presented in the order I took them. Each shot brought forth a short poem. Thank you so much for coming with. All images are, of course, mine. But that adorbs barn divider is all @thekittygirl.
Some cool finds on your walk around the house and awesome how you came up with a verse for each one
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk
WOW!! As if the photos are not stunning enough, your haikus leave me breathless, esp. this:
Come closer,
then closer still,
fall into sensuousness
and be still
That flower!! Looks similar to one of my hollyocks, but the interior is more exotic. And what is the mysterious blue matter on the bricks?
Love it!
Thank you #1 fan of mine!!! I love you!
The flower is Rose of Sharon. The blue stuff is in random splotches on my front brick wall. Really strange.
You are a beautiful gifted woman who knows how to vicariously live through natures breathtaking moments.
The world is lucky to have people like you in it :)
I hope you have been well, I've not been on here much but trying to get back into my groove again.
Aw...
I've been checking in on you every day. Glad to see you are back. It's so hard to be consistent here! Mostly it sucks up way too much of my time.
Hope you're well! And still printing...
Wow! For me, this is an absolutely new look at Wednesday Walks, so creative!
Thanks! I don't go far from my house very often, so I have to find the glory in tiny things just outside.
Minimalism in poetry and photography: very well achieved both. Your photos and short poems, with their simplicity and naturalness, fulfill a wish expressed by our poet Rafael Cadenas: a poetry that springs from the thread of the days. Photos that reveal a sensitive look and condensed poems of daily surprise. Thank you and best regards, @owasco.
Thank you! What a lovely comment!
