I have not posted in here for a while and JJ and me come a long way together, so here is my offering today.
Slowly and graciously this Jackal Buzzard ((Buteo rufofuscus) cruised over my head.
Just a variety of pictures here to show you some sights on our walk near a local river. Bordering the river is also a big public park, where people can walk their dogs and we come here quite often to the secluded areas.
A sense of peace and freedom reigns and the wildlife is often abundant all over the place. The river's origin is up in the mountains and we have not had a chance to get up there for some photos, as I have some trouble with my legs. But I hope that soon things will be better and that we will get up there.
O before I forget, my wife said that a little toad was under our car and so I had to put him in the garden before we left for our walk.
No better place than nature to go for a walk and have a look at how nice this olive tree orchard looked.
We had some serious dark clouds here lately, so when we saw that the day was good, we used the opportunity during a power cut to get out there.
Cry me a river, I think this was some movie title and you can see that the colors signaled the start of Autumn (Fall).
This ring neck dove looked a bit perturbed, and I will show you why in the photo below this one.
This was the reason for the dove's panic as the buzzard was floating overhead. Look how the sunlight created lovely colors in the wings and tail of the buzzard.
We sat on a bench here for a while as my legs needed some time out.
These are all evergreen trees, but you can see that the grass is starting to lose its deep green colors. Soon the grass will turn shades of yellow.
You can see my shadow, as I took another shot of the river here below.
And finally I got a lucky shot of a flying dragonfly couple that is mating a bit late in the season. Dragonflies are scarce now that winter is knocking on the door.
So that's it for our walk and it was really refreshing to get out there. One can never know what one can find for the camera during these walks as most times there is something new going on. I have over time taken shots of different raptor birds here and also shots of many dogs. My favorite is always the dogs that swim in the river and the trout babies in the shallows. Occasionally we might encounter some souls, but thankfully they are all friendly and it's a real pleasure to take a walk here.
Soon I will also do some posts about some other interesting finds as time permits, as we are a bit stretched for time due to the power cuts.

Nice capture of the buzzard, not many of the big species around of late I think water conditions not quite right for them.
Little dove will be worried with big bird floating around, dragon flies have started thinning out here as well. Noticed a firefly for the first time in years the other night, hopefully see more once again, they too were plentiful years ago.

Yep, some anxious moments for the dove and in another weeks time there will be no more dragonflies, as cooling down rapidly here, yay!
I wonder what happened to the fireflies, as most of them seem to have disappeared.

New neighbours removed trees where much life thrived, now fireflies, glowworms all gone.
Pity people are so terrified of snakes they remove trees and plants, snakes move everywhere, ignorance is bliss!

That's what I cannot understand, as we recently drove past our old house and all of the trees are gone!
That beautiful old Palm tree where the giant fruit bats came to feed on ever season is gone. Cut down and so are the trees in the garden that the squirrels used to live in. So sad to see.
Some people strange habits as they want their houses to have a clinical look and they are normally the ones that have no idea about anything in nature. To them, everything is poisonous and needs to be killed.

Always sad to see people mutilate well established gardens there should be a law passed prohibiting, after all the screaming about "climate change"... Yes climate changes regularly, in fact all the time, not by man by nature who is far more superior.

You know how the palm trees can mess under them once the fruits fall off, so I went out every morning to sweep it up. I had to be a torture for the new owner to clean.
Also the birds that nested in the trees tended to mess a bit, but no, even the trees had to go.
Such is life in some people's minds.

LUlus shoulder is as good as its going to get, the Dr said surgery is possible but its an intense surgery and he doesnt recommend it if she can cope with it without to much pain, I am always around and can help with things she cant do so she decided no to the surgery
Erratic, I think that word fits me t the moment, but lets see if I can get back into gear
I think that it's a good decision not to take the operation, as we are not youngsters anymore and anything can go wrong. You as usual are standing by her side to help and even if it's a bit erratic at the moment, things have a way of working itself out my friend.
You just keep on hanging in there.
