I can't explain why, but somehow, I can't find my place in the town where we moved last year... I am exploring the area and slowly, finding nice places for walks, but I don't feel ready to take out my camera and share it with you guys... Maybe it's just nostalgia for the old place, or the old "area" was indeed more beautiful than the new one... Well, one is for sure, I had the seaside at 3 minutes on foot from my home, and now it's 35 minutes by car... There's that... š As my wife still works in town where we lived before, I used the occasion to go with her last week, and take a walk around the area...
I have probably mentioned before, but in the old place of living, 30 minutes into the mountains by car, there is a mountain spring with fresh water that we would collect and use... As I was in the area, I went to refill our bottles, and found the most beautiful views! At this time of the year, the almond trees are blooming!
The views were great, but unfortunately, the skies were grey and these photos can't reflect the "real picture"... I was hoping that it would look like snow on the mountain, but the cloudy day didn't allow that to capture and transmit...
Luckily, you can't go wrong with the closeup photos of the almond tree flowers! Is it white, is it red, is it purple, or maybe pink? You choose the color that you like the most!
On my way back, I have to stop at least 2 times more to get more photos! This one is probably my favorite... Not just because it looks like you are sitting in a theater with two (flower) curtains on the side, but also because of that LONELY TREE, at the top of the rock! Not sure how it got there, maybe people took the rocks and soil around it, or it just felt right to grow there, but it looks gorgeous!
After getting enough of the mountain fresh air, it was time to sit back in the car and pay a visit to a bit different views...
The next stop is the seaside! The "usual suspect"... This isn't the town where I lived, but it is very close to it... The beautiful Altea!
I still remember this part of the sea shore when at this place, there was no beach at all! There were small ponds where birds were chasing shrimps and small fish, and the sea side was completely covered with big rocks... It was almost impossible to get into the water... A few years ago, they reconstructed the whole area and created this long beach...
While I was walking on the promenade, I noticed these cute small chairs with an improvised table... I had to take a closer look...
It appears that for this bar, you have to reserve a place for your dogs too! š Not too many free spaces, so hurry up! š¶
As my first-choice pastry shop was full, I had to go with the second-best... Chocolateria Valor is one of the most famous places to go out and eat/drink chocolate products made in this area... The "factory" is located 20-30 km from here and there are many small shops where you can sit and taste high-quality chocolate products!
As it looked so great, I took one sip before taking the photo of mochaccino that I took... Mix between coffee, chocolate, and a lot of cream... š¤
I know what would @palomap3 take from this menu... It is on the top-right side of it... Churros con chocolate! š¤¤

It's a struggle when you move to a new location. The adjustment with the Atmosphere, and surroundings can take quite some time. I had the same feelings and it took me some time to get used to the new place. Almond blossoms and apricot blossoms always remind me of cherry blossoms, they are beautiful. In Ukraine, there was an apricot orchard near my home and during spring the orchard used to look so pretty. I have never lived in mountain areas or near the sea so I guess it must be nice to live in such locations. Take your time and eventually, you will get used to your new place...

Thank you very much for your kind words! It's interesting that, when we left our country where we lived for over 30 years, I didn't feel nostalgia at all... And now, after changing towns in Spain, I do feel it... It's so weird... š
Anyways, all changes take some time and the same goes with moving... Who knows what could happen tomorrow? Maybe I will move to a completely other place... :)

Its 0Ā° C right now early this morning but we are seeing a bit of warmer weather during the day but it will cold again. April is usually when true spring is here.
I should probably only have one churro but if I don't have it as a snack I never have room for after a meal.

The photos with the bokeh effect was nice. I mean the pink flower taken up close. Stunning. The beach area also looks very good, no dirty stuffs one the sand, and solitary too. A very good place to reflect about life.
This is probably the best time of the year for exactly what you said, to reflect about life as it is so peaceful... As there are almost no festive in February, there are no tourists and everything is calm...

It's normal that you're still out of place in your new home. Returning from time to time to the places you frequented does not help you get used to it either. There were many changes at the same time, adding the move to R's new life away from home.
Let's look for something positive about the new home... it is very likely that in summer you will be better off the humidity of the sea. š As time goes by, you will find new nearby places to feel part of. Home is were your dears are.

why did you move?
We had been renting for 12 years, and the rent was going up year by year. As it is a very touristy place, the real estate prices there are crazy high, and we couldn't afford to buy there (nor to pay the latest rent hike!). So, we moved to another town where we could!
Ah same as here, rents are very few and crazy expensive, buy a house is super expensive too, but we aren't a tourist place, just a normal city
Well, I'm not at a tourist place either now... Rather a typical Spanish town... š
