This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay. Today it would be special, as I walked to the historic festival named "Window to Europe", in honor of the 350th anniversary of Russian Emperor Peter the Great.

The entrance itself looked modest, compared with the grandiose exhibits inside:
There I witnessed an abordage of a sailing battleship by seven boats and one land-based gun battery. I have made more than a thousand photos; of course, in one post it is impossible to tell even about the most memorable moments. So, today I will just start, let me show you what my eye looked at, without any concept: what types I met at the festival.
Там я стал свидетелем штурма парусной шхуны семью лодками и одной наземной орудийной батареей. У меня больше тысячи фотографий, конечно в одном посте невозможно рассказать даже о самых запомнившихся моментах. Поэтому сегодня я просто покажу вам, на что посмотрел мой глаз, безо всякой концепции: какие типы мне встретились на фестивале.
Not far from the entrance there was a tent where one could try on a comfortable and "fancy" soldier's uniform of the 17th century - and, of course, hold on to weapons. The success of this spot has been... unrelenting.
Недалеко от входа стояла палатка, где можно было примерить на себя удобную и "с фантазией" солдатский мундир 17 века - и, конечно, подержаться за оружие. Успех этого места был... непрекращающийся.
Old sailor and a noble lady - a strange, unusual, suspicious pair!
Blacksmiths and medalists. They did not work all the time, and I managed to take a very limited number of pictures, alas. I couldn't see the production of the medals at all...
Кузнецы и медальеры. Они работали не всё время, и мне удалось сделать очень ограниченное количество снимков, увы. Я совсем не смог увидеть изготовление медалей...
Here it was possible to forge 4-sided nails by yourself - of course, with the help of a blacksmith! The kids were delighted.
Здесь можно было самому - конечно, при помощи кузнеца - выковать 4-гранные гвозди! Детишки были в восторге.
The carpenters showed how to properly edit a tree trunk, that is, a log, into a beam. Many have never tried it. After a little exercise, one looks with great respect at the achievements of the ancestors.
Плотники показывали как правильно отредактировать ствол дерева, то есть бревно, в брус. Многие ни разу в жизни не пробовали. После ннебольшого упражнения, с большим уважением смотришь на достижения предков.

One could pull on a real cable that controls the main sail - without climbing the shrouds to the height of a 3-story building. You can actually do this even while standing on the ground! Precious opportunity for those who wanna educate themselves more about sailing.
Можно потянуть за настоящий трос, управляющий самым главным парусом - без того, чтобы залезать по вантам на высоту 3-этажного дома. Можно сделать это, фактически, даже стоя на земле!
In the crowd of visitors, one could easily meet a variety of figures. Soldiers, sailors, marketers, blacksmiths, noble aristocrats...
В толпе посетителей запросто можно было встретить самые разные фигуры. Солдат, матросов, маркитанток, кузнецов, благородных аристократов ...
An interesting character. Was that an adventure seeker? A pirate in a skirt? I remained intrigued.
Интересный образ. Искательница приключений? Пират в юбке? Я остался заинтригован.
I assume that these are simple Dutch dishwashers?.. Would appreciate your guesses.

These girls were actually running the calligraphy tent, as I later noticed - and I have to say that it was one of the biggest moments for me at the festival. Here one could write with a goose (well, or a gull - there are many gulls in our city!) pen and ink to write some good inscription "according to the model" in an old handwriting. As you can see, a soldier was even assigned to the entrance to the tent, who lets those who wish according to the queue - there were very, very many who wanted to!
Эти девушки на самом деле, как я заметил потом, заведовали палаткой каллиграфии - и я должен сказать, что она была одним из самых больших моментов для меня на фестивале. Здесь можно было гусиным (ну или чаячьим - в нашем городе живут много чаек!) пером и тушью написать "по образцу" какую-нибудь хорошую надпись старинным почерком. Как вы видите - ко входу в палатку даже приставлен солдат, который пропускает желающих согласно очереди -- желающих было очень, очень много!

And finding the time to edit them all the ones that are good, next to everything else. Can be really hard.

Always had seen these things in movie's and always a fan of their fashion sense like just look at those soldier looking absolute Royal's also children's, woman and man feels like happy to experience thing's a normal person can only imagine or watch in movies.
