My First Try On Night Photography

Before 10 or a little more years, I liked to process photos, make collages, and do creative things.

In December 2013, I bought my first DSLR camera - Nikon D3200 with the default lens which is not very good, but for beginners and for practice I believe they were good enough. In that way, I have spent some time just playing with different settings for aperture, speed, iso, etc...

One day I had the opportunity for the night photos. My uncle invited me to go with him to a place near my hometown. It was the summer season, so it got dark later and we waited to do this and prepared cameras.

When we arrived it was very dark but we chose a position to have a nice view of the sky and started to prepare to try night photos.

The results from my tries are shown in the next images

I know that it is not well visible but I remember that the sky was so beautiful and inspiring.

As you see they were not very good but for a beginner like me then it was so hard to find a nice combination of settings between aperture, speed, and iso. Although I used a tripod there is much noise in the photo because of the high iso setting but when I tried with a lower value, then nothing was shown in the photo. Just darkness.

Although the photos are not very successful, I remember that the current night was very nice. The sky was clear, without skies, with many stars. Really inspiring. Unfortunately my lack of experience, and not completely sure how to take night photos lead to these photos. I think that was my first and for now, my last try to get night photos in completely dark conditions in nature.

All used photos are taken personally by me and can see them in full size in my portfolio in deviantart

you got some amazing night shots love them

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk

have a great day

Thank you very much for the support.

It was very hard for me to take them, although I know they have too much noise because of the high iso, but from all the experiments that I had done that night, these settings with the high iso gave me the best results.

I mean that for beginner and hobbyist photographer night photos in the forest are not very easy.

Also, the kit lens in general is not very good in my opinion. I like these photos but really don't like the noise in them. And I see it so clearly. But the memory is good. I spent really calm and nice evening there playing with the camera and settings :)

night photos in a forest are not easy for anyone, and yea using high ISO is for sure needed if your hand holding the camera, a tripod can help with longer exposures but then the stars move which can not be the effect one is after

Kits lens are agood to get started with
