Roncade is a small town located in the province of Treviso. I came there by bus. Roncade is famous for its castle. In general, this is a villa of the pre-Palladian period. But because of its beauty and majesty, this famous villa is called a castle. The villa has preserved all the beauty of the houses and the wall that surrounds it, although it was heavily destroyed during the Second World War. It has been restored and is now owned by Baron Tito Ciani Bassetti and his family. The baron revived the ancient traditions of the villa. First of all, grape plantations were restored in the fields around the villa. Baron started the production of wine, the history of which goes back to the Roman Empire and Serenissima.

The castle is visible from afar. High two towers and strong walls of the castle welcomed me. I walked over a bridge that was built over a moat filled with water. In the moat, ducks splashed peacefully and carefree, and a white heron stood waiting for its prey. The stone bridge is decorated with two statues. From the gate I saw a beautiful white house with columns. A wide avenue led to the house. Statues of Serenissima warriors lined up on both sides of the avenue. On both sides of the avenue, there is a well-kept flower garden with bushes of fragrant roses of various varieties and colors. Four old trees grow on the lawn. These are two luxurious broad-leaved magnolias and two powerful Lebanese cedars.

On both sides of the house there are mini labyrinths made of boxwood. The bushes are very neatly trimmed. It can be seen that they follow this very carefully here.

I did not get inside the villa because a wedding ceremony was scheduled for that day. Everyone hustled to create a pleasant festive atmosphere. And I went to inspect the side buildings contained in the walls that surrounded the entire territory. Obviously, there were probably utility rooms, housing for servants, stables, warehouses, cellars for aging wine here.
Всередину вілли я не потрапила через те, що цього дня була призначена весільна церемонія. Всі метушилися щоб створити приємну святкову атмосферу. А я пішла оглядати бічні будівлі, що містилися в стінах, що оточувпли всю територію. Очевидь, тут напевно колись були господарські приміщення, житло для прислуги, конюшні, складські приміщення, льохи для визрівання вина.
Then I walked along the perimeter and reached the wine cellar. Bottles of expensive wine that won high international awards flaunted on the shelves. Pleasant atmosphere. I was given a taste of Prosecco, which is made in the castle. Pleasant, refreshing with aromatic notes. It's good that the baron supports the ancient traditions of winemaking! The winery of the castle is its calling card.

Next to the castle is a church, which I also visited. I was lucky that it was open. The church dedicated to St. John the Baptist was built on the site of the old chapel back in the 12th century. The church acquired its current appearance after reconstruction and reconstruction in 1492. The bell tower dates back to 1493. Inside, the church is painted with paintings and frescoes by students of prominent artists such as Tiepolo and Titian. An ancient organ completes the interior of the church.

The Musestre River flows further along, which was and is important for the life of the local population, as its waters are used to irrigate agricultural lands, the river's waters set the mechanisms of numerous mills in motion.

I had a wonderful excursion. After a delicious lunch at the Villa rosa restaurant, I got ready to go home. Moreover, the weather began to change, a thunderstorm was approaching.
