Here is another snowy trek for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
I woke up today to a ton of snow. Looking out my balcony window I see a mother and child trying to walk in all this snow.
Looks like they had to walk to wait for the train. Towards the end the mother had to pickup the child. They probably got too tired of sludging through the snow.
I almost didn't want to go out walking today seeing everything covered in thick snow. But I finally forced myself outside.
Right when I stepped outside there was roughly two feet of snow. I pity anyone who has to drive to work today.
Not much plowing has happened yet and the pathway to the lake is heaped with snow. The trick is not accidentally slipping on any black ice beneath the snow, the best way to avoid falling is to wear ice cleats.
I love it when the evergreens get snow laden. If someone is walking with you it is also the perfect opportunity to shake the branches and have snow fall on them.
Now I'm getting near to the lake and the snow still keeps falling.
I love how the snow can transform everything into a minimalistic environment. Only the trees stand out.
The lake gets even more minimal.
Now I have to try and get myself back home in time for work lol. At least when it snows it seems to get warmer outside. I'm hoping all this wont melt then freeze again.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
So beautiful out there but looks like snownageddon fir sure
I hope you were able to get to work ok
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Fortunately I had the computer rendering while I was out on the walk. I got back just in time as the rendering finished. It will be a mess for anyone who has to drive out there though.
Ohh yeah fir sure
Some if the roads here are still covered with thick snow and icy not fun to drive on
salju terlihat sangat tebal turun di tempat anda,, situasi nya pasti sangat dingin sekarang,,
It is very thick, when it first snows it actually gets a bit warmer for a while, it sort of insulates the surrounding environment. Then eventually it gets really cold the next day.
I've never felt the coldness of snow, hehehe
Just heat of a tropical environment right?
yes that's right,,, maybe,,,??? or if ???? someone took me, to the place where you snow, this is if. ?????? this will be the most special thing in my life,, if????????
So much snow @sketch.and.jam poor people that need to go out. The ones that choose to go out will have fun. I would…
You can hardly see the lake anymore. Everything is covered and white.
Great walk and photography.
There is plenty of material to build giant snow forts/snowmen. The snow plowers are making lots of money right now.
O yes… the fun people could have. Even make it into sculptures. ☃️☃️⛄️⛄️
I can imagine.
Yay! 🤗

Some sympathetic resonance. It snowed on the coast again so it’s another snowy trek to the outhouse:
That is one cold trip to the outhouse. I heard there was a bunch of snow in Buffalo NY but I suspect that is normal for them.
I grew up in T.O. as a kid and Buffalo was always getting snow swamped...Cable channel 29 from Buffalo had all the old Godzilla movies! Classic kid entertainment:)

One word: awful. I'm so glad it hardly ever snows where I live
I grew up in a desert environment where it was always hot. I kind of like the season change but winter is rather annoying dealing with snow and moving it around out of the way.
So much snow, wow! You are lucky that you had to go out just for a walk around and for the Wednesday reportage :) Running back home for work, lol!
I loved the evergreens!
And surreal, at least to my untrained eye!
Thank you for sharing! I hope it will not freeze...
The snow is always good for photos, I sludged back to work just in time lol. I wish I could have driven out to a forest preserve to get more snow photos but its a weekday.
Oh yes, being in the forest a day like this would be awesome!
Well, weekend is not far, maybe you will still manage to take some nice pictures!
Beautiful SNOWMAGEDDON!!!
I love this post so much. Having grown up in Michigan, with big winters and just dealing with snow all the time, I miss the wonder of it. That magical moment when you can just enjoy it. This is the first winter in forever that I've not had to 'go to' work. I've grown to hate snow having to get up at 2 am to shovel and hope trucks were out to clear me a path to get to work by 5 am. But now I can finally enjoy it again and these pics have brought back those loving memories of snow as a child.
Oh and a frozen lake covered in snow! Are you kidding me!!??? Someone get my skates! ;)
I grew up in the desert of Arizona so snow was a rare sight. The lake can sometimes have the right conditions for smooth skating ice, but this year it has been rough, people flooded the football field to make an ice rink.
oh i love that! We had a basketball court at the playground in the center of the town I grew up in and the town would flood it. It was the place to be on the weekends! Alternatively, we would skate the ponds when I visited my grandparents. Either way, we wouldn't stop until our feet were frozen numb! ;)
I've always wanted to visit Arizona though, even though I tend not to like warmer climates as much. It looks beautiful and so interesting.
There were quite a few "snowbirds" from Michigan that would move to Arizona to retire or just have a home there during the winter. They left during the summer because it was way too hot. If you ever get a chance check out northern Arizona it is way nicer looking.
very thick snow. I think that's the visibility that can be seen very close.
Its good exercise to walk around in such thick snow. Though if you wear glasses like me the snow ends up landing on them and blinding you.
It's also dangerous if you don't wear glasses.
