Wednesday Walk Another visit to West island beach
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

For todays Post I am sharing another visit to West island beach I did a few days ago, Whenever I used to visit West island, I used to Park and walk around the shoreline, but as I mentioned in this post I on a previous visit ran into a fellow photographer in the area and saw him head off the beach inland a bit and I followed along and discovered the marshes that I had never really noticed there was a trail by them so that was my plan for the visit I am sharing today
In the car Park is this old World War two observation deck which I cant resist grabbing at least one shot of each time I visit there

I got there quite early and it still was pretty dark, so I decided while waiting for a bit more light and to head to the trail by the marshes to stroll along the beach, to give an idea how dark it was this shot was a 50 second exposure to capture some light

The reason I decided to head to this spot to check out the marshes was the weather apps I use were indicating lots of clouds and I thought there would not be many colors of sunrise, but as the sun got closer to rising we did get some colors

and as it got lighter I walked back over the sand dunes to the marshes

With the lack of rain we have had here most of the lawns and parks had very little green mostly brownish colors so seeing the rich green in the marshes was so nice

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

I love the old World War two observation deck in your first photo. It is something that would definitely grab my attention too.

Wow! Yes, that would be great if you could go up inside the tower. Is it open to the public to actually go inside? That would really be great!
I have looked online and found no info about it ever being open sadly
I found a few links if you want to check them out...
And this is a PDF that you can just open online. It's pretty much focusing on the tourist market, but it has quite a lot of info. It just opens small, so just enlarge to 100% and center, then it reads quite easily.
I must be honest, doing these searches gave me some nice ideas of more and new spots to take some photos...lol. But they are all more tourist/venue orientated. It's good info, but it doesn't do justice to the scenes and the views that can be seen. I suppose they want you to come to see for yourself...lol.
I hope it gives you at least a slight peak of what you would like to see...

Wow, it really is a beautiful landscape, those clouds and the sun rising, a great and beautiful hike, the silvers look much more beautiful in the rainy season, it helps to enliven their colors.
This challenge looks very interesting, we should use our everyday life and let our imagination run wild to share what we see.

Happy #wednesdaywalk! I like the cool greens of the marsh. We got about 1.25 inches of rain yesterday so hopefully that will green things up a bit. I also like the yellow/orange and blue sunrise. A little different than the usual color palette.
We got some good rain yesterday as well finally, I drove by the pond here this morning and was great to see it had a lot more water than it has had for the last couple of months
Wow, that observation tower is a lot bigger than I thought it was based on the first photo. The fact that you can see it so clearly in the other photos off in the distance is pretty cool. Awesome shots as usual!
Yeah I wondered if the close up shot didnt do it justice thats why I did make sure to capture it in some other shots,
I wish they opened it up sometimes I would love to see the views from up there
That would be cool if you could go inside and get to the top. How well do they have it secured?

The light of dawn seeps into the landscape so quietly until it is no longer. The cloud eventually gives way to a brilliant piece of color.
I love the winding paths the marshes take and I actually kayak through the larger ones over on Chincoteague Island. The green is brilliant in yours, despite the lack of rain this year.
I can always count on a great walk with you to start the day off right!

Beautiful photos of the green marsh and sunrise with the clouds.
