Hi, dear Hive community!
It was a rainy season here in Slovenia for the past two weeks. Outside was cold and occasionally even smaller storm came.
Gardening season has begun, and now we have a very important task - protecting the small plants from being eaten by an army of black and orange snails and their babies! They love rain and moisture, therefore the conditions were perfect for them. Without a joke, we have collected every day 50+ snails all around our area!
Morning was not looking best and a little bit of raindrops were there. We had agreed already last weekend that we will have a small barbecue party at our friends' place - no matter the weather. Our plans went smooth as raining stopped around 11.
After the food and good conversation, we decided to go on a walk in their area. This walk was really nice, as we were mostly walking through forest paths and crossed many smaller streams. The terrain was a bit muddy, but as one person once said: "There is no bad weather, only bad equipment.".
The area is full of forest and undergrowth. After the rain, rivers were rich with water and beautiful to visit.
On the way there were many abandoned houses, that served as stables for the animals. Once this area was only grass field where animals like sheep's and cows were in charge. Now this activity remains only on plain areas, and maybe every village of 60 people has one farmer left. The rest found work elsewhere.
Walk will stay with us for a very long time. We had a special someone going on the walk with us - their cat named Mario. He is always like to join them for walks around their home.
We were sure walking for an hour or even more, and the one-year-old cater walked with us the whole way. It was funny to see how he was avoiding mud and all watery areas.
He starter miawing and with that letting us know that he needs to rest for few minutes. He laid down in the grass to rest his little feet.
After the walk, we decided to go to nearby Italian gelateria, where they make the best sweets and ice cream. The choice was big.
Thank you for reading!
Wish you a nice rest of the day!
