So I had a very long day, No school and I stayed indoors all day, reading "lord of the flies" and watching "Suits" the series. 4pm I decided to take a walk and I noticed something weird; The dry season's arrival hadn't sent the flowers packing, yet.
My first greeters were the YELLOW BELLS. Sweeeeeeet sweet scent. You'd be tempted to find out if it tastes as it smells (yes I wanted to chew). I gave this away to the first person I met on their way back from class and she made a joke about never having gotten flowers.
Next baby on the way was this DWARF MIMOSA. There's something about the delicacy of this flower that stirs a fear in me. The fear of mishandling delicate situations. I tend to swing between hand- on and nonchalant. Delicate affairs are my kryptonite and I dread being in positions where the lowest oddity could bring about dire consequences. This plant (after how many years of seeing it) gave me a new perspective; There is beauty in delicacy.
I wonder what international relations between Barbados and Nigeria are like. The abundance of the PEACOCK FLOWER, national flower of Barbados here is astonishing. From tying my durag to knotting and wearing my tie, ironing my trousers, I'm a sucker for proper symmetry. This flower tests another flaw I didn't want to admit to. The peacock flower is never symmetrical, it looks chaotic yet beautiful and graceful. It challenges my subconscious relating of beauty and symmetry
Lastly, beside another batch of the yellow bells was the PINK POWDERPUFF. Why did i pick this up? no special reason but you have to agree it kind of looked like dwarf mimosa.
Thanks for walking with me *grins in reveled tomfoolery. I had something on my mind I wanted to thunk of while walking and till now I cannot remember. Nonchalant? Laissez-faire? try "Je ne sais quoi" as Aida would use to describe me. Goodnight people.
