Continued my first day in Sydney, I went for a walk at the Botanical Garden which is another of my favorite places to visit. Located just to the left of the stunning Sydney Opera House and iconic Harbor Bridge, there is the glorious Elizabeth Gate that leads into this green vast garden.
When I stepped into the park, I was immediately taken by the stunning view of the bay, lush green lawns and many types of plants both native and other in the area. So many huge trees here, and such a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city!!!
Its location is unique just in front of the bay and next to the famous landmarks. Here we can enjoy the fresh air, watch boats passing and take in the pretty sights of landmarks nearby. What a great place to connect with nature and relax :)
There is more to the garden than plants alone. Among of the plants and beautiful walkway, some made of stone, you will find structures and artistic abstracts scattered through out the area.❤️
Located in this picturesque garden surrounded by lush greenery, the garden coffee shop is the ideal spot for a summer refreshment. 🙂
There is little lake complete with walk bridge which attracts tourists and bird life as well as the locals.
Some tropical plants like palm tree, banana and bamboo around made me feel like I was in Bali 😃
I saw an abundance of bamboo trees! My favorite tree amongst a variety of lush and other plants in the garden. I guess visitors have taken it upon themselves to write their name on the bamboo stalks.
I was wondering if it is a unique way to celebrate the beauty of nature or commemorate the special moments spent in this place.
The walk was lovely, and I only explored a small part of the garden, but it was worth it !! I wish I could have more time spending the whole day here but hopefully next trip :)
Located next to Sydney Bay is the Old Town of The Rocks. This is another famous place worth exploring destination of this city.
This is a beautiful ancient town, where the old meets the new.
From the old bluestone houses that surrounded by the modern skyscrapers, it was really fascinating to stroll around.
One of the most interesting aspects of this historic town is a few old pubs that still operate to this day that gives us a glimpse into the traditional Aussie way of life. The Aussie do love their pub like ritual meeting place, almost like a church haha.
Besides of the city's iconic landmarks, I particularly like the modern public transportation system which runs through the heart of the city. It was so convenient to use the train to travel around the city and suburbs.
After more than half of the day walking around the Opera House, I took train from Circular Quay to City Hall.
This is very central of the city, and one of the popular destinations with many shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues. That's why it's always busy here.
When I walked out of the station, I was captivated by many historic building and beautiful architecture all around, especially The Queen Victoria Building. It stands tall above the hustle and bustle of the city.
A timeless beauty ❤️
I had the pleasure of visiting the Building, and I was truly impressed by what I saw from its stunning architecture to its fine array of restaurants, shops, and attractions.
It's very grand old lady building which would of been engineering and architectural marvel as it still is today and amazes tourists. Truly beautiful building inside and out, stepping inside is like being transported back to another era. :)
Then I headed to Chinatown in Haymarket, it was Fri and there was a night market on where I can shop for a variety of things for all and of specialty foods from Asian countries.
The China community seemed very vibrant, and definitely a fascinating and colorful part of the city. The market was a bustling place with stalls selling all kinds of goods, souvenir and traditional food.
I started my day at 8am, and embarked on a journey across the buzzing city streets until 8pm. It was quite a big walk but enjoyable, taking me from one side of the city to the other.
Along the way, I experienced sights, the hustle life and vibrant culture of Sydney Central. My feet were getting tired but the brilliant surroundings kept me vigorously interested and keen to keep seeing more. 😃
Hello Trangbaby. In case you haven't heard it lately, you have a pretty blog. <3
That first massive tree image. I look at it like I bet it's seen a lot.
Awe such a beautiful compliment @dandays amd the tree- it would have seen more than we could ever imagine :)
Hope everything going well with you and have a great weekend yourself :)
Whenever I am in a new city.
is one of my favourite things to do, especially in another country!
Great architecture and the older buildings. Being British I never knew Australia had things that old!
The pub culture hehe I am sure that is a throw back to the Brits who settled there in Australia!
You're right very British Heritage as we were one part of the commonwealths. The garden is a great way to explore the new places unless the winter as it covers in snow..too cold for me 😅
Thanks for reading and leaving the comment, much appreciated it 😊

Thank you Nina, Sydney was bustling with exciting activities and entertainment venues. Time constraints limited my ability to experience many of them; however I recognized things are more expensive here than Melbourne :)

This park is wonderful! Your trip has been a real success.
It seems that in one place it was possible to combine everything in which a person really rests.
A cultural natural parks of various landscapes, and corners of this nature, natural reservoirs and even works of art!
And you noted that this is not the whole park!
It's impressive!
Thanks for sharing!
Yes, just small part of the area. Must be very big park 😃 but I didn't have much time exploring the rest. It's definitely a great place to relax from the hustle and bustle life of the city :)
It is quitly visible on your photos! It is greate to have such recreation in the center of the city.
I think to have such park is vital for the city livers.
Hope to see more different areas from your future visits!

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk, its my pleasure to host it and see all the posts each week from all around the world, including yours, if you have time visit some of the other walks this week there are so many interesting ones
Now I know most only post once a week using the Wednesday walk tag or community and I truly appreciate that and love visiting the posts so for most of you you can ignore the next sentence
I try and be nice and let people know via a comment to only post once a week, but some just abuse it and to me spam multiple posts a week, after asking nicely a few times and being ignored, this morning I regrettably had to mute a couple of people who were spamming the Wednesday walk tag
I'm glad you liked it :)

Oh dear, I never seen people do graffiti on bamboo before, on big trees yes a lot but not bamboo LOL
I did it on the bamboo stalk in my village when I was little haha. It reminds me of the childhood's memory that's why I was really fascinated to the bamboo trees in the garden :)
