Hello everyone! Today I am going to share about my walk in the Redang Beach which is located in Sekinchan, Malaysia. I went there a few days ago because I was going around in Sekinchan town for a little tour and visited this beach. I took a walk around the beach although it was warm. The windy weather helped to keep myself cool, although it did ruin my hairstyle.

This is my entry for this week's #wednesdaywalk tag, initiated by @tattoodjay.

This is the front of the beach. It is not suitable for a swim but we can still take some pictures and walk around. I also saw some parents playing with their children at the shore and I guess that is also permissible because it is perfectly safe as there are barely any waves in this beach as it is more of a dry, mangrove beach.

This is a view from the side. There was a little shed at the edge. This area was with many trees. I think it is called the Rhu tree, which commonly grows in beach areas.

This is another part of the beach where it was more sandy with less grass or any trees.

For those who prefer to take breaks or to just sit and enjoy the view, there were benches to sit. It also helps if we take our elder family members so they can just sit while waiting while the others take a walk.

This is me at the beach. I didn't even wear powder and was just there, barefaced except for some liners, but look how bright my face is! That's because the sun was shining brightly. I am also closing my eyes here because I could not keep it open for long as it was too bright for me. If anyone want to visit this beach especially now, I highly suggest you to wear sunscreen before going to protect your skin.

The long part at the edge of the beach is actually a large stone. I am not sure whether it was man-made or naturally took that shape due to the constant corrosion and wearing off of the sea.

There were some flags on the beach by the way. I could only identify the Selangor state flag and not sure about the rest of them.

A boat suddenly started coming out of nowhere. I didn't even realize it until I heard the noise and started looking where it was coming from.

IMG_20230508_134917.jpg

I zoomed the boat. I think it was a fisherman who was coming back to the shore. It somehow moved into a little tunnel that was build at the large stone at the edge. I didn't even know it was there until I saw the boat disappear into a hole there.

This is the name board of Sekinchan so people can go there to take pictures. It was colourful. By the way, there is also a paddy field in this location. If you go, I suggest checking that out as well because the greens look so beautiful!

Time to check the stony bridge! If you plan to get up there, please be fully alert because it is very easy to slip and all it takes is one misstep. Even I was careful and didn't take much pictures while I was getting up the steps as there were also some stones. If you have dizziness or vertigo, don't even get there as that can be dangerous once you start walking in the middle of the water.

This is the view after walking further to the front of the bridge. The space keeps getting narrow to the point where only two people can fit safely on the bridge at a point. So when there are many tourists, we may need to take turns to walk around the bridge especially to the front.

This is the view on the left side of the bridge. There were some boats parked there. I think the little structure is like a fishery station so boats can unload their catch.

These are just some sea poles I saw. There were almost everywhere on this side.

IMG_20230508_135326.jpg

Here's a closer look of it. I guess they were made of metal. Can you spot a little stork looking for food?

IMG_20230508_135342.jpg

There were multiple storks actually all looking to catch some fish for their meal. It was very windy and that added to their difficulties along with higher waves coming as it was in the evening.

I zoomed onto this particular little guy and captured a picture of him. He was catching some fish to eat. He was struggling to stand because it was extremely windy.

I took one final picture of the beautiful beach view before leaving to drink some cooling iced coconut to cope with the hot weather. There are many shops nearby and people can get some food and water if you need.
