Hello everyone!
This post was originally intended for Wednesday Walk last week, but you know me. It became too late, so I thought it would be good to post in WEEKEND EXPERIENCES. And then here we are, back to Wednesday Walk and still a little bit late after a week of procrastination. Since when did I become on time with my posting? 😂
I'm just wondering, how long will it usually take you to upload a post? From sorting the photos, editing, drafting the post, and then proofreading, does it take days for you to do them? It's usually just hours for me, but I'm often distracted so it could take days to weeks.
Anyway, in this post, I would like to share about one of our excursions when we visited Metro Manila last August. It was part of my birthday celebration and one that made me realize that I'm not as young as I fooled myself to be. It's not the same anymore. Before, when it comes to travel, we just incorporate time management into the itinerary. Now, we need to add energy management during travel planning. It's not the same as when I was 23 years old when I could go on moving the whole day.
We visited the largest mall in the Philippines on a Monday but it was on a holiday, so there were still a lot of people in the mall. Now I'm not sure if this qualifies in this community, but I have to post this somehow. Anyway, we rode a bus from Makati (where we stayed) to SM Mall of Asia and arrived at around 10:00 AM. Our first agenda was to have brunch at the Swedish restaurant in IKEA.
We knew that it would be a long day of walking and window shopping, so it would be best to eat something first. Social media has been hyped by the opening of the very first IKEA here in the Philippines and we read a lot of rave reviews about the Swedish restaurant, so we wanted to try that out. Sadly, when we reached the fourth floor where the restaurant is located, there were a lot of people queueing for the same reason. We weighed our options. If we fall in line, we would be waiting for at least an hour. We didn't have the luxury of time as we planned to transfer to BGC (Bonifacio Global City) in the afternoon. We decided not to queue and look for food somewhere else in the mall.
I didn't know the design of IKEA. I was shocked that you can't just go out anywhere. It was so funny that all I wanted was to go out and find something to eat, but we had to pass by the bedsheets and shower curtains. It felt like a kilometer of walking. The check-out is located on the second floor, so we were already exhausted by the time we were out at IKEA.
We decided to eat at Wendy's since we don't have that fast-food restaurant here in Cebu. After eating, we stayed for a while because we were so exhausted. That's why I'm talking about energy management. It was not just me who felt that exhaustion, so I guess it comes with age. 😂
After a much-needed rest, we went outside to have some photos to update the followers that we were in MOA. Zaniel told me that the spot near the restaurants is where most people would have their photo taken and everyone would immediately know you're in MOA. It's especially lively at night, but only a few braved the heat that time when we had our photos. We didn't stay for long though since we still had a lot of places to visit and we didn't have much time.
We decided to go to the boulevard facing Manila Bay. It's an open space where most people would like to stay in the afternoon to watch the famed sunset at Manila Bay. But since we visited at noon, only a few people stayed there. Most stayed at the airconditioned mall to avoid the heat. I honestly don't like malls because their interiors almost looked the same, so I can't take photos. It's more interesting to be outside.
We had difficulty finding the exit towards the boulevard because of the construction and renovations in the mall. When I searched about it, it started in 2021 when they started to open up more spaces to regain the status of the largest mall in the Philippines.
It was a fine day, but we didn't stay outside for long because it was so hot and humid. It's the usual weather here in the Philippines, but Metro Manila is too much for me. It was draining all my energy.
It was a fun day, but it's one I'll probably be skipping for a while.
I guess that's all for this post. See you at the next one!

I also have a similar post to this one time, I wanted to write in Wednesday walk but I posted it in Weekend experiences, Kim. Haha. Yung iba pa feel ko iwrite. Happy wednesday walk and happy weekend experiences narin. Amping permi! SM Mall of Asia lang sakalam.
Diba! Di lang ako nag-iisa. Lisud sad create content oi.
I actually have the same question about how long it took for other hivers to finish a post so it's good to know from your side. For me, it depends on my mood and how much details I want to share, sometimes took several hours to complete but it could take days and weeks as well.
Btw, Happy birthday and believe me you are still way too young to think that you're getting old. In my experience, I spent my 20s to think a lot about "Oh I am getting old, I am reaching there..." but then when I am on my 30s, I feel like I am still young haha. But I agree with the energy management part. I used to travel all day long and not worry about taking break because you know we are on holiday and we wnat to make the most of it. But now, not so much, I want to take times and enjoy the holiday.
Mood is a great motivator or a great spoiler. I have a lot of unfinished posts in my drafts. Some of them won't be uploaded because they're no longer relevant.
Thank you! I always think that I'm old so that I won't get hurt if I will be slapped by reality. I really hate staycations before. Now, I wanted them so much! Like I'll just prefer going to resorts and relax than hike to the mountains. It's not the same anymore. 😭
How long it takes for me to write, usually hours. That is why I am amazed of those saying they can manage it for an hour! Sometimes I even had on my mind what to write but yeah due to distractions and exhausted at work it takes days before I could start.
MOA, thinks it's been years since the last time I visited that mall as it was little bit far from my place. Plus it was too wide to explore, it was tiring. I prefer staying outside and yeah it would be fun to stay in the boulevard and maybe ride in ferris wheel at night.
It really takes hours. I'm amazed by those who can churn out content on one seating. It takes weeks for me. 💀
It was my second time in MOA. When were still in college, we visited the mall during our field trip. I remember we toured around the mall from noon until evening and we still had a lot of energy.
Time can slip away sometimes and before we know it… it’s weeks further.
Great to see this post @ybanezkim26 that is still part of your birthday travels 😊😎
Yep..l getting older we do notice it while traveling. Hehehe I do too.
I’m right now on holidays in the US for 2 weeks… a few more days and we fly home again. But I notice… we are getting older hehehe 🤭
Such a beautiful experience you had during your travels. Thanks for sharing. Loved seeing all the bright photographs. Very happy and sunny. It looks indeed like lots of fun.
Take care my friend 😊👋🏻
I'm so happy for you! I'm sure you're having a blast in your holidays! I'm slowing down in my travels now so I'll revisit my old travels that I haven't posted yet.
Take care and have an awesome remaining days of your vacation! I'm excited to see your posts about them. Maybe pinmapple will be functional by then.
Thank you so much @ybanezkim26 I sure am 😊
Those times are great when we still have many travels to share in texts and photographs. Looking forward to seeing them too.
I will make the most out of it. Thanks.
Have a great end of the week and enjoy your weekend my friend 😊👋🏻

Galing din kami jan sa MOA last month and lagi tlga namin yan binabalikan ng jowa ko. Up to now di namin makabisado yan sa sobrang laki.
What a very hot day! Just by looking at the photos I can feel the heat! Luckily the heat doesn’t come out of the phone so I’m safe. 😌
Your photos are so nice. I don’t think there’s anything interesting inside the mall. Outside is where all the actions happen. But noontime is the peak of the heat! I hope you all still smell so good after that. Some people smell like the heat of the sun when exposed to that heat. 😂
I can totally relate to the energy management. Lately my travels include a lot of staying in a restaurant or some place just to rest and recharge a bit before moving to another place.
I laughed so hard at “updating the followers”! Way to go! Lahi ra jud ang peymous 😂
We smelled like a hot sunny day! We didn't stay long and we had umbrella with us because it's unbearable.
Diba! Laban ang pagka influencer kay invested ang mga marites sa atong mga ganap in life. 😂
Mars @romeskie si Kimmy nagpunta ng MOA di nag aaya!
Grabe ibang iba na ang MOA compared to where I used to live before mukhang mas malinis na sya.
Babalik ako pag bull run na ulet! ✌️ Aayain ko kayo lahat jan. Walang aayaw! 😂
Hahaha. Nagpunta rin kami MOA recently. Maulan nga lang. Although oo, mas maganda na sya ngayon. Hehe.
Game ako sa next na punta mo @ybanezkim26. Magkakape tayo tas itatanong ko kung open minded ka ba. Haha.
See you soon, mommy! Open minded naman ako. Sino ba ayaw yumaman? 😂

It took me hours to finish one and sometimes whole day because there's a lot of distraction here plus overload of work. Pag ganun I don't have time to construct my sentences na. Naghahalo-halo na nakow.
Good for those who can do it in just one sit. I can do it also if I really know the topic. Pero madalang haha.
I've never visited MOA in my entire existence. Maybe sa future nalang. By the way the view is really a good spot for photoshoot.
