Wednesday walk on a warm spring day

Hi friends! This walk took place last week, when we still had warm and sunny weather — unlike now, with cold, snow, and freezing nights. It was a very warm, gentle, beautiful spring day. It was around noon — the perfect time for a walk with our youngest son, who’s just over a year old. He sleeps really well in the stroller while we walk, so it was my turn that day to take him out. I thought about taking a jacket, but it was so hot that a T-shirt was enough. Though from time to time a cool wind would blow and I slightly regretted not having that jacket — overall, though, it was very warm. Nature was waking up, everything was blooming — like that bright yellow forsythia bush by the road, or the wild cherry plum along the highway we passed. Usually, we take a short dirt road by the forest, where it’s quiet and free from traffic, but this time it was covered with stones. Our neighbors had brought them in to build a proper road so their cars wouldn’t get stuck in the spring mud.	Привіт, друзі! Ця прогулянка відбулася ще минулого тижня, коли в нас була тепла й сонячна погода — не така, як зараз: холод, сніг і нічні морози. То був дуже теплий, лагідний, погожий весняний день. Була обідня пора — саме час для прогулянки з нашим молодшим сином, якому трохи більше року. Він дуже добре спить у візочку, коли ми гуляємо, тож того дня була моя черга йти з ним на прогулянку. Я хотів узяти куртку, але було настільки спекотно, що вистачило просто футболки. Щоправда, час від часу налітав прохолодний вітер, і тоді я трохи шкодував, що не взяв куртку, але загалом погода була дуже теплою. Природа прокидалася, все цвіло. Наприклад, той жовтий кущ форзиції біля дороги, або дика алича — теж біля траси, вздовж якої ми проїхалися. Зазвичай ми їдемо короткою ґрунтовою дорогою біля лісу, де немає шуму машин, але того разу вона була засипана камінням. Сусіди привезли його, щоб зробити собі дорогу, аби машини не грузли у весняному болоті.

Привіт, друзі! Ця прогулянка відбулася ще минулого тижня, коли в нас була тепла й сонячна погода — не така, як зараз: холод, сніг і нічні морози. То був дуже теплий, лагідний, погожий весняний день. Була обідня пора — саме час для прогулянки з нашим молодшим сином, якому трохи більше року. Він дуже добре спить у візочку, коли ми гуляємо, тож того дня була моя черга йти з ним на прогулянку. Я хотів узяти куртку, але було настільки спекотно, що вистачило просто футболки. Щоправда, час від часу налітав прохолодний вітер, і тоді я трохи шкодував, що не взяв куртку, але загалом погода була дуже теплою. Природа прокидалася, все цвіло. Then I decided to take a walk along a forest trail to enjoy the spring nature. Maksym had just fallen asleep, so I headed into the woods. Everything was blooming there too — there were anemones, small delicate white flowers, very beautiful. There were also primroses — tiny yellow blossoms. And, of course, violets! I came across an entire clearing full of violets — it was an incredible sight.	Потім я вирішив пройтися лісовою стежкою, щоб помилуватися весняною природою. Максим саме заснув, і я поїхав лісом. Там теж усе цвіло, були анемони - маленькі, дрібні білі квіточки, дуже красиві. Були й первоцвіти — дрібні жовті квіти. І, звісно, фіалки! Я натрапив на цілу галявину фіалок — це було неймовірне видовище.

Потім я вирішив пройтися лісовою стежкою, щоб помилуватися весняною природою. Максим саме заснув, і я поїхав лісом. Там теж усе цвіло, були анемони - маленькі, дрібні білі квіточки, дуже красиві. Були й первоцвіти — дрібні жовті квіти. І, звісно, фіалки! Я натрапив на цілу галявину фіалок — це було неймовірне видовище.

Then we rode out onto the sandy path beyond the forest, and in the distance, we could see the church in the village. Along the road, wild cherry plum trees were also in bloom — there were so many of them, and it looked absolutely beautiful.	Потім ми виїхали вже на піщану дорогу за лісом, і вдалині було видно церкву в селі. Уздовж дороги теж цвіла дика алича — її було дуже багато, і це також виглядало чудово.

We were going along the path when I almost ran over a rather large grass snake. At first, I thought it was just a stick because it was lying completely still — probably had just woken up after winter. Usually, reptiles slither away when people approach, but this one just lay there. I backed up a little, picked up a stick, and gently poked it. At first, it didn’t move at all, then slowly lifted its head and hissed lazily. Of course, I didn’t touch it — although grass snakes aren’t venomous, they can still bite. After a few minutes, it finally, reluctantly, slithered off the path and into the forest. Then we were able to move on.	Ми їхали собі стежиною, як раптом я ледь не наїхав на чималого вужа. Спочатку я подумав, що це якась палка, бо він лежав нерухомо — мабуть, щойно прокинувся після зими. Зазвичай плазуни втікають, коли люди наближаються, а цей просто лежав. Я трохи від’їхав назад, узяв палку і обережно його поторкав. Спочатку він навіть не ворушився, а потім повільно підняв голову і ліниво засичав. Я, звісно, його не чіпав — хоч вуж і не отруйний, але вкусити може. Лише за кілька хвилин він нарешті, неохоче, зліз зі стежки й поповз у ліс. Тоді ми змогли проїхати далі.

We were going along the path when I almost ran over a rather large grass snake. At first, I thought it was just a stick because it was lying completely still — probably had just woken up after winter. Usually, reptiles slither away when people approach, but this one just lay there. I backed up a little, picked up a stick, and gently poked it. At first, it didn’t move at all, then slowly lifted its head and hissed lazily. Of course, I didn’t touch it — although grass snakes aren’t venomous, they can still bite. After a few minutes, it finally, reluctantly, slithered off the path and into the forest. Then we were able to move on.

Ми їхали собі стежиною, як раптом я ледь не наїхав на чималого вужа. Спочатку я подумав, що це якась палка, бо він лежав нерухомо — мабуть, щойно прокинувся після зими. Зазвичай плазуни втікають, коли люди наближаються, а цей просто лежав. Я трохи від’їхав назад, узяв палку і обережно його поторкав. Спочатку він навіть не ворушився, а потім повільно підняв голову і ліниво засичав. Я, звісно, його не чіпав — хоч вуж і не отруйний, але вкусити може. Лише за кілька хвилин він нарешті, неохоче, зліз зі стежки й поповз у ліс. Тоді ми змогли проїхати далі.

That was our little spring adventure with Maksym — we went for a walk and enjoyed an incredible spring day together.	Ось така в нас була весняна пригода з Максимом — ми гуляли й насолоджувалися неймовірним весняним днем.
