Salutations to all pilots camped out on diverse worlds throughout the new galaxy! The Market Expansion Leaders Navy has a proposition for you!
The Problem
By now, you've likely discovered that there are vicious wildlife on your planet that want to tear your face off and feed it to their brood for breakfast. They attack our people, interfere with expeditions, and there are reports that some can even steal and use our own equipment against us!
The Solution
There is no simple way to deal with the situation on your planet. Look on the bright side. There plethora of animals that evolved under certain unique situations, making them capable of unique abilities. This presents a Research Opportunity! [MELN] scientists suggest cataloguing interesting planetary fauna along with notable behaviors.
Prerequisites
- eXode pilot status
- Familiarity with your planet's animals (having investigated one or been attacked by some, etc.)
Requirements
- Create an artistic rendition of one of your wildlife
- Depict it using its "special move"
- Create a post with your work and a little information/anecdote about your animal. Share a link to your post in the comments
- Use #eXode as one of your tags
- The deadline is May 29th
- Reblogs not necessary but welcome
You are not restricted by which medium you may use. Your rendition may be hand drawn, painted, sculpted, digital, etc. Check the Intel section of the Game Inspector for hints as to certain details about your animal.
Prizes!
There will be 3 categories which will have one winner each:
- Best Design
- Best Attack
- Funniest
Prizes will be legen- wait for it...
-dary!
Here is one of my discovered creatures, the Abeausa.
Theories on how it is capable of Dangerous Long Breath.
In action.
This one was tricky as its attack can span a long range, which I wanted to show, but the animal itself is only insect sized. Hence the reason I made multiple pictures. I did not have the time to think of a creative way of putting it all together (Just one picture/entry is easiest to judge). These are just rough examples anyway. We expect yours to show more effort/creativity.
[MELN] scientists hope that in gathering all this data, it will help future generations learn about the varied forms life in their galactic backyard and what preparations to take when encountering them. May the best pilot win! Thank you for participating!
I love the idea of your tiny insect shooting out fire larger than it's entire body size!
Very excited to see some entries and give away Legendaries!
!PIZZA
Yes, that's quite the special move. That's how it keeps attackers far from its weak and puny body!
Can't wait to see different entries as well!
PIZZA Holders sent $PIZZA tips in this post's comments:

I could not get Dtube to take this. I might play with the formatting some and see if I just made it too high res. The fun part was creating it but the posting part is a bit painful as I could not get a decent quality video to post up. Regardless for those that want to see the details the source code for the production is also linked.
I think it is pretty cool, time spent creating was less than 14 hours.
Reblogged!
And we'll mention it in our next blog article and tag everyone this week!
Also EXODE would like to sponsor this event with 1 alpha booster for every winner!
(edit if that causes no issues for the organizers, of course; they are the managers of this!)
Thanks for the reblog and the extra prizes. Now people will have even more reason to participate!
Just a suggestion, but it wouldn't hurt to explicitly specify the deadline instead of simply "post payout"
Noted!
It has been fixed.
Thanks for catching that early on.
This will be fun, I have at least one with enough detail to have formed a picture in my little mind. I will see what kind of illustration I can come up with.
Been hacking around with "Scratch 3", got to say, some really cool software. Write code and not really have to type in code. Totally awesome for those wanting to teach their kids to program at an early age.
Scratch 3 can teach kids to program? That's awesome!
Can't wait to see your entry for the contest!
Yes,
I totally recommend anyone with kids to have them check it out. Instead of playing games, they can create their own. I have something created and now it is just a case of how to present. Being a video, I guess it should go on YouTube?
You could upload it to Dtube instead? So you can get upvotes
MWHAHAAH! I have a plan! Whether or not I can execute it is another story...
I may need the entire week.
Though I decided to pass on this it looks like fun for the more artistic types.
I'm not at all artistic and had a blast!
Good idea! huh my is slowpok *)
