Today I want to share a little about a writer and essayist that I really liked. Her name is Zadie Smith and she is from London.
Hoy quiero compartirles un poco sobre una escritora y ensayista que me gustó mucho. Su nombre es Zadie Smith y es de Londres.
In 2000 she released her first book, White Teeth, a weaving of stories between two families in a multicultural neighborhood in London. Zadie tells us in her novel the lives of two men: Archibald Jones and Samad Miah Iqbal, as well as the lives of their wives, sons and daughter. The narrative makes us constantly travel to the past and present, from the arrival of immigrants from the former British colonies to London, to the way of relating of their children, who although they are young people born in England, rebel against racism, against their origins, against their history and against the destiny that their parents have drawn for them.
En el año 2000 lanzó su primer libro, Dientes Blancos, un tejido de historias entre dos familias en un barrio multicultural de Londres. Zadie nos narra en su novela la vida de dos hombres: Archibald Jones y Samad Miah Iqbal, así como la vida de sus esposas, hijos e hija. El tejido narrativo nos hace viajar constantemente al pasado y al presente, desde la llegada de los inmigrantes de las antiguas colonias británicas a Londres, hasta la manera de relacionarse de sus hijos, que si bien son jóvenes nacidos en Inglaterra, se rebelan contra el racismo, contra sus orígenes, contra su historia y contra el destino que sus padres han trazado para ellos.
By the time Zadie published this book, she was only 22 years old, and her narrative skills quickly made way for her on the contemporary literary scene.

I recommend you to read White Teeth, and be sure to look at all the details that the writer mentions about the meaning of white teeth in society. A title so well chosen that it makes us feel that each character, with all its cultural and social peculiarities, is the protagonist of this novel, and that it is for each of them that this novel bears its name.
Te recomiendo leer Dientes Blancos, y no dejes de fijarte en todos los detalles que la escritora menciona sobre el significado los dientes blancos en la sociedad. Un título tan bien colocado que nos hace sentir que cada personaje, con todas sus particularidades culturales y sociales, es el protagonista de esta novela, y que es por cada uno de ellos que esta novela lleva su nombre.
