My name is Erin Masterson and I create traditional drawings, paintings, and mixed media works. Instagram: erin_masterson_artist
In my work I use a technique I call Triodynamic Monochroma, where I blend three or more colors, but not completely, and the positions of the colors both on the color wheel and on the paper often form a triangle. I also like to draw objects that influence each other in geometric or fractal pattern-like ways, exploring concepts such as mental states, alternate realities, impossible situations and object interactions (also prevalent in my Surreal subject matter), and exaggeration of visual perceptions. I don't really try to conform completely to any particular style although my drawings can be hyperrealistic. I try my best to add emotion in my colors that isn't in my reference, and sometimes I take a long time to prepare references with subject matter that would be impossible in the real world.
Above: "Nude on a Strawberry", an example of impossible juxtaposition.
Below: "The MoonStone Comes" - based on a dream I had. Depicts an impossible apocalypse scenario:

Your drawing is lovely. The last one is really amazing and looks so supernatural. Did you say you had that dream? Did it scare you when you had the dream? I've dreamt something similar and I was totally terrified when I woke up. It was really strange but you put yours into drawing and it's really nice.
I wasn't scared of the dream, it was an epic dream. They don't tend to be scary, just epic lol.
It was really a dream about poetry because a monk was saying in the dream, "The MoonStone comes and we receive it. Come with me, you've been deceived! Two lovers underneath the MoonStone, kissing underneath the rune stone [Stonehenge], kissing underneath the blue stone [the night sky]!"
Amazing post. Beautiful art. Good luck on Hive
Hello @emmartist! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive and introduced yourself to the community - congratulations and welcome! You didn't mention how you happened to find our blockchain home - did an established Hive member tell you about it? If so, be sure to tag them so they know you're part of the Hive community now.
Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities. I see you already found OnChainArt, and you might like the Sketchbook community as well.
Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.
Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For more information, check this post - Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise by hivewatchers.
In addition, since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.
If you have questions, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server and we'll do our best to answer them, and again welcome to Hive!
Welcome to Hive, Erin. I wish the best for you.
Welcome to Hive Emma, look forward to reading your posts and seeing more of your art. I love surrealism by the way
