They are quiet, they are sweet, they suffer in silence...
How many of us are intrigued, fascinated and attracted by Asian culture? There are many of us.
This design is part of a compendium of pencil sketches that I have done some time ago and that I have not digitized for some reason, I chose this one because it was not so disproportionate and the idea came back to my mind sweetly.
While I was drawing I couldn't help but remember scenes from the famous movie, Memoirs of a Geisha, produced by the great Steven Spielberg (it had to be) all his movies left traces in me.
I loved Sayuri, the main character of the movie, her eternal love for "the president" what inspires me.... During the plot of the movie we can see part of the history of the country during the second world war and how it affected and modified its culture.
Sayuri went through many hardships, but her love for the president remained intact, the dramatic part of the matter is that, the president also loved her and watched her steps and well being silently.
In the end the two meet, like a great love novel, the actors have an incredible chemistry, I cried in many scenes, even more knowing that it is part of a reality.
It is one of the movies that I will never get tired of watching, even though it is about 16 years old, since it was released in 2005.
Ellas son calladas, ellas son dulces, ellas sufren en silencio...
¿Cuántos nos sentimos intrigados, fascinados y atraídos por la cultura asiática? Somo muchos.
Este diseño es parte de un compendio de bocetos que he hecho a lápiz hace algún tiempo y que no he digitalizado por alguna razón, elegí este porque no estaba tan desproporcionado y la idea regresó a mi mente dulcemente.
Mientras dibujaba no pude evitar recordar escenas de la famosa película, Memorias de una Geisha, producida por el gran Steven Spielberg (tenía que ser) todas sus películas dejaron huellas en mí.
Amé a Sayuri, el personaje principal de la película, su amor eterno por "el presidente" lo que me inspira... Durante la trama de la película podemos ver parte de la historia del país durante la segunda guerra mundial y cómo afecto y modificó su cultura.
Sayuri pasó muchas penurias, pero su amor por el presidente se mantuvo intacto, lo dramático del asunto es que, el presidente también la amaba y vigilaba sus pasos y bienestar en silencio.
Al final los dos se encuentran, como una gran novela de amor, los actores tienen una química increíble, lloré en muchas escenas, más aún sabiendo que es parte de una realidad.
Es una de las películas que no me cansaré de ver, aun cuando ya tiene 16 años aproximadamente, ya que fue estrenada el 2005.
The geishas, with their silences, their fans, their art, part of a culture, go through a rather long and painful process until they reach their recognition, in the film we can notice a certain rigidity in their training, perhaps necessary to become known as "makers of dreams and fantasy" they can really become birds while dancing, with their delicate fabrics and long dresses, while walking they seem to float like a feather.
When I see a geisha I can't help but see that she is living art, not only her makeup, but her attitude, her posture, all that she represents.
Las geishas, con sus silencios, sus abanicos, su arte, parte de una cultura, pasan por un proceso bastante largo y doloroso hasta llegar a su reconocimiento, en la película podemos notar cierta rigidez en su formación, quizá necesario para llegar a ser conocidas como "hacedoras de sueños y fantasía" pueden convertirse realmente en aves mientras bailan, con sus delicadas telas y largos vestidos, al caminar parecen flotar como una pluma.
Cuando veo una geisha no puedo evitar ver que es arte viviente, no solo su maquillaje, sino su actitud, su postura, todo lo que representan.
Today I wanted to make even my presentation different, and for us to sit and talk like the old friends we are, to breathe a little.
This film retains many morals, it shows the constancy we must have, not to abandon our dreams, to keep faith in ourselves, to be good even in adversity and to protect our sweetest and most subtle feelings, from which our spirit is nourished.
Perhaps my dear reader, my drawing does not do much honor to the beauty of a geisha, but I do not miss the opportunity to express every beautiful feeling that may inspire me, or that simply comes to my mind while drawing.
I try to do my best to steal a smile on your face when you see my illustration, because I care more about making the child smile that you keep deep in your heart.
May simplicity flood your life and make you happy.
Hoy quise hacer hasta mi presentación diferente, y que nos sentemos a platicar como viejos amigos que somos, respirar un poco.
Esta película conserva muchas moralejas, muestran la constancia que debemos tener, a no abandonar nuestros sueños, mantener la fe en nosotros, ser buenos aun en la adversidad y proteger nuestros más dulces y sutiles sentimientos, de los cuales se nutre nuestro espíritu.
Tal vez mi querido lector, mi dibujo no haga mucho honor en cuanto a la belleza de una geisha, pero no pierdo la oportunidad de expresar, todo sentimiento hermoso que me puede inspirar, o que simplemente llegue a mi mente mientras dibujo.
Tratar de hacer lo mejor que pueda para robarte una sonrisa cuando vez mi ilustración, pues me importa más hacer sonreír al niño que guardas en lo más profundo de tu corazón.
Que la sencillez inunde tu vida y te haga feliz.

I love the story line of the movie. The morals you drew from the movie is even more intriguing for me.
