Thanks for being with me in 2022!

I can't believe it. In my side of the world, 2022 is ending in 12 hours, give or take a few minutes. Then it will be 2023, and I'm not sure I'm even prepared. In my head, I am still stuck in what could have been 2020 had the pandemic not wreaked havoc in everyone's lives.

what a year it was.

Words fail me every time I try to describe how this year had been for me. I started the year pretty optimistic. I have long decided to pursue graduate school, just not sure when, but on a whim, I emailed my previous professors and bosses and asked for graduate school recommendations.

You can say I started 2022 clumsily drafting email after email asking to be written stuff just to get me to my dream school. I applied for graduate school and voila, I surprisingly got in! It's a notoriously expensive school, though, and sometimes it got me wondering if I should have pursued further studies here or at a public school. Only time can tell.

I also got to meet my work colleagues for the first time, face-to-face. Being the only woman on the team made me very anxious to meet them. Somehow, everything was... normal, to say the least. I didn't feel out of the loop and I appreciated that.

I also traveled to many places more than I did my whole life. It was my first time to travel by plane, my first time to see white sand, and to travel to both ends of the island of Luzon. It is, for a lack of better word, simply amazing.

I'll be capping off the year having traveled a lot, experienced different things I have never before in my life, and met more people than I did the last couple of years. Of course, I also got sick (many times!!!) this year more than I did the last few years, but... I'm probably just getting old. 😆

so my last drawing of 2022...

Drew this in a rush today when I realized that it is the last day of 2022 and it's been a month since I last drew anything. I have to match it with the festivities this season... somewhat. This Pinterest photo served as my reference for this one.

I enjoyed working on it, although I have to say, it kind of frustrated me, too. As it had been a while since I last drew anything, I just couldn't get it to be the way I wanted it to be. It's another case of "I think I forgot how to draw." And I hated that!

Still, I hope you liked it!

Notes

It's a week late, but merry Christmas, everyone! Have a happy and blessed New Year. ♥ Also, thank you for being a part of my 2022!
