I go hiking not just to have fun or to satisfy my need for exercise. I get a lot of inspiration by stopping for a short while to look around and take photos. Then I post some of the photos here. But how different it is when I make paintings (here watercolours) based on the photos. The essence is often lost in the photo, but I can bring it out in the painting. I often work out the close-ups in detail while blurring out the distant ones.
It's foggy outside now, and will stay that way all day. It's fun to create inside, but then I can't stand being between the four walls for long, I go outside even in "bad" weather. Because inspiration is always needed!
This time I painted one of my favorite places, which is in Pilisszántó. This dark pine tunnel leads to an important sacred place and at the end there is light, which has a symbolic meaning.
