Stepping into world of digital art brought small liberty to my creative process. Those who know my works know that I mostly do watercolor portraits inspired with Art Deco period, sometimes highly ornamented with pale colors.
Photomanipulation wasn't something I tried but recently I started playing with it, and what a twist happened.
I love dark themes, SF and spooky but somehow it's something I don't share with public a lot.
This piece started as a play where I wanted to create a scene with dark SF atmosphere, but not to dark. Starting point was a figure of person / droid and picture of spiky ball.
I will share several layers from the process.
Here is plain body without helmet and any changes I added later. I did some coloring and overlays to add shadows and colors.
Background with blue color was to simple so some changes were added later with overlays to bring more warm tones.
Also helmet needed more adjustments to make it more part of the whole picture.
Face and eyes were hand painted ( since I love to paint ), hand that brings ball was also like part that needed similar fixing.
I wasn't satisfied how face originally looked, I wanted more spooky expression.
And here is a final image. I hope you like this small process sharing and short explanations. It was attempt like sharing work behind the curtains :) Also this work is minted as single edition on Makersplace and you can check it here https://makersplace.com/jung/giver-1-of-1-86615/
Thank you for reading and leave a comment if you like :)
I think this is one of your best works. I have been seeing your watercolor works before they were nice attractive and very artsy. But this one has a different flavor, different attack! And you hit me with this!
