If you still haven't tried out some wax watercolor pencils, I recommend you sincerely to try them out.
I bought several of them last year ( Koh-i-noor brand) and they are called just like that - wax aquarell.
They don't act like regular watercolor pencils since the wax gives them smoother lines and richer pigment.
Here I used paper for acrylic. They are bit stronger structure than watercolor ones and added a thin layer of gesso so the surface become a bit greasy. It gave beautiful result since the watercolor made nice puddles.
Wax pencil becoming wet made nice stronger areas, but still some lines left untouched.

Thank you!
Amazing! I really love how you managed the colors and the overall temperature of the painting.
Before watercolor, I started with watercolor pencils, I really enjoyed using them but when I started using real watercolor, I never went back, maybe it could be useful to add details that are hard to pull off using a brush.
Thanks for sharing!
You should try this kind if you manage to buy them. They are totally different from those standard watercolor pencils. Full with pigment and somehow juicy :)
Thanks for reading :) !!!

Simple yet very expressive. The tones of blue go very well with the vibes of this painting.
