"Hearts" is a 18" x 24" mixed media artwork realized on a sheet of 400 Strathmore paper (111,6 kg, 400 g/m²) for acrylic paint. Why on paper? Simply because I was in the mood of playing around with pastels, switching to another medium for a day or two. Maybe I just wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and try something new.
No prepared script, no idea how it should look like in the end. The only focus was on enjoying the process!
Thus I connected with my creative intuition, allowing it to guide me through the process of creating this piece, which is a mix of oil pastel colors, acrylic paint. I used the pastels on top of the paint to ensure they adhere to the surface. Although I liked the idea of having framed behind a glass, I couldn't do it, cause the oil pastel take forever to dry, just like oil paint.
I must admit that the Kamar spray varnish did a great job sealing the artwork by providing a non-yellowing coat which will protect it from dust, sun, etc. The bright and vibrant colors, along with its childish naive look made it fit perfectly in a child's bedroom!

This is a fun and playful piece. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can very often lead to interesting results, indeed. I think this is one of my more favourite of your pieces.
Thank you! I had fun drawing this. ;0)
