Welcome back to Strange Creatures

Raccoons are the cutest! Always up to something mischievous, constantly moving, their curiosity is off the charts, and even when they make a mess it is hard to get angry at them as one look at their little faces can create cuteness overload and melt your heart into a puddle in a split second. I have never seen them in real life, but sometimes when I feel a bit down I watch raccoon videos as they seem to cheer me up somehow. I was quite happy to work on this tiny raccoon painting as I’ve been wanting to paint one for a while now and to combine it with the moon was so fun! I enjoy this process and the randomness element of it.

Nine more creatures remain to be discovered. If you have not read the previous post, there are two numbered lists containing different animals and things. You help me choose the numbers and we see what completely random creatures I have to make as a result!

Numbers remaining for animals: 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
Numbers remaining for things: 2 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11

Write your two numbers from each list in the comment section below and let’s see what creature will follow the footsteps of Robot Moose and Moon Raccoon! I will pick the winner at random from all the participants ^^

Song of the day: Gunship, Stella Le Page - Art3mis & Parzival

! What do we have here? A rare Moon Raccoon! Captured with the help from @gtg who chose numbers one and one in the previous post. Thank you so much! A super great combination as raccoons often sleep curled up in a ball! Its grey/brown earthy-toned fur perfectly blends with the surface of the moon. What’s hiding on the dark side of the moon? A giant, sleepy raccoon! So I hope every single time you will look at the night sky and see the moon, I hope you will think of the Moon Raccoon hiding in the shadow!

This instantly finds itself among my favourites of your creations. It's so adorable and cool at the same time. I think the coolest part is that if I cover the bottom, my brain just sees a moon. Then if I uncover it, it's a raccoon again. I think the most adorable part is the way it cuddles its tail; it makes me wish I had a nice puffy tail to cuddle like that.

Fucking great song of the day, too. Seems like it came out a little ahead of its time, because it's bloody perfect for the state of the world right now.

Gunship is really awesome! I knew about them before and I'm actually really into synthwave in general but never really explored their specific discography much, I don't know why. But today I let the suggestions keep playing while I wrote my comment and this was next:

...and I was hooked. I'm gonna be listening to them all day now. Awesome shit.

This is a really neat series you're doing here too. Great idea. I can't wait to find out what's next...

Animal Seven, Thing Eleven please.

Yay! I am happy you like it so much! Yep, cute is what I aimed for as they are simply adorable in real life too. And rolling in the ball is something they really enjoy too:

Think the tail keeps their paws and belly warm that way as well.

Yep, couldn't agree more on the Gunship, they are quite brilliant and that video of Dark All Day is so cool and vampy! All their videos are quite awesome :)

Thank you for participating and choosing the numbers! May the odds be in your favor! Sounds like Hunger Games xD

Wow, this drawing is wonderful.
Good job)

Aww, thank you so much @elenasteem! I loved working on it and I hope that it at least put a smile on someone's face today :)

This is indescribable! Stunningly good if I need to put it in words! Great job!

Thank you for the kind words, I try my best :)

Thats another interesting creation. It looks like its curled up in a ball in a sort of moon camouflage. Very nice.
Raccoons are very cute. They are quite common in Canada, both in rural areas and cities. I have seen quite a few. The cutest was when i saw a mom and two babies sleeping curled up in a tree. Three heads popped up and looked down at us to see what we were doing. They mostly come out at night though so they aren't easy to spot walking around. They often dig through garbage cans so you mostly just see the mess they make lol.

Aww, you are so lucky to have seen them, not so lucky on the mess part ahaha! Yea, they are not common here at all, but perhaps I will visit Canada some day and see them there as well ^^

little cute work 😄❤

Thank you. The subject dictated the cuteness :)

Does that make it a Ramoon?

9:8 this week.

Maybe Ramoon is its name xD

Yay, thank you for picking them numbers as I thought almost no one will do it xD

I love that minimalism. I imagine several paintings with different animals resembling planets, it would be for a museum 😍

I should start that museum perhaps :D I enjoy creating tiny paintings, because while they are tiny, every bit of it is important and either makes it or breaks it.

I also like small formats, they force us to pay attention to detail. I look forward to seeing that exhibition

It's very cool. love it

Thank you! I am glad you like it! ^^

He looks so comfy. I really like the texture of this type of traditional art.

Yep, he is off to the dreamland :) Layers, a lot of layers are the secret.

I'm taking notes. I really want to make this type of art.

You should give it a go for sure, it can be really fun :)

This is a beautiful little creation you are very talented keep up the good work 👍🏾 how long have you been doing this for ?

Aww. Thank you! I truly find joy creating these. Painting? My father was an artist, so the paints and brushes were available to me a long time, but the watercolors I began exploring and loving only about 3 years ago. This however has a little mix of different paints to make it pop a bit more.

No problem. It's always good to enjoy what you do . Sounds like it comes naturally to you runs in the blood keep up the good work 👍🏾 I enjoy creating unique art to take a look when you get a chance 🤝

Awww this is really cute!

Thank you @creativemary :) I am so happy of the cuteness I happened to achieve.

Yup, you should! Great job!

Really nice concept you've got here.
Keep it up

Will do! I was so happy to discover it and can't wait to start on the next one :)

Very cool small art 👌☺☺

Thanks! The devil's in the details with these tiny pieces. It can be quite challenging at times. Some time ago I had issues with my hands as they were shaking quite a bit and it was hard to control the brush and to be precise, but it has gone better luckily.

The more you try and do, the stronger your hands become. ☺👌👌👌

Interesting challenge.
How's the new normal going?

Yea, it is and for me it's perfect because not always I have clear picture in my mind about what I want to paint and work on, but this sets the theme and I just go and give it my all :)

What's normal? This life is all about craziness.

What's normal? This life is all about craziness.

i mean we have some interesting measures for stores (also known as the new normal): mandatory masks.

For some stores we also have thermal screening, through which they measure the skin surface temperature of our hand. Claiming that flu like symptoms can be caused by a virus so dangerous that

  • we have to wear masks and
  • people who might have fever are not allowed in some stores

is a scientific claim that requires scientific proof. i have a curiosity:

  • What's the proof for the virus?

visiting raccoon on back porch for a long time now. It used to come around at night with my stray cat and possum friends.Once again @m31 … I enjoyed seeing your artwork here. I've not seen my

Have a happy day.

Thank you @angryman! I have only visiting hedgehogs here and they always make me smile when I see them. Hope you have a happy day you too!

The little creatures bring a smile to my face as well @m31 … There are two of them hanging out in my yard right now (cats) They're both males though, so they lay fairly far apart in their territorial disputed spot.

Thanks for your input. Regards.
