Hello EVeryone.
Welcome again to another one of my posts where I'll be sharing another one of my artworks with you. This one is also a fan art drawing of a monster of Splinterlands. I made my own version of the original card following the original concept in my own way. The character I'll be drawing today is named Spirit Shaman. I'm posting this artwork especially to participate in the weekly art contest arranged by @splinterlands.
I've completed this drawing using my laptop, graphics tablet, stylus drawing touch pen, and a drawing software called ibis Paint. I'll attach the original image below with my work so that you can easily compare and judge. I'll also be sharing every step of my work with details. Hope you are going to love the post.
My Drawing
Original Image
I started the first step by drawing the basic figure of her. I used the thin pencil tool from the app to do it. I normally first create a dummy structure and then draw the body over it but with this one, I decided to work differently. I drew the whole body by just depending on my basic instinct. I was worried that I might face problems measuring the position of the body parts and I might get an odd result. But, in the end, I got what I wanted. Obviously, it needed some erasing and re-drawing. But, at the end of the day, the result is what matters to me.
After I was done with the structure and borderlines, I then started to focus on the coloring part, and to begin the process I first put the primary color for her skin tone.
- To complete the coloring, I began with her face. I colorized her eyes and face in this step. As the character is a SHAMAN I kept the eyes like one and that's why the eyes lack colors and look like faded. But, this was what the character required. It'll make sense when I finish.
- Then on this step I started to put the primary colors on her hair and dress too. I also added a few new color layers on her skin to bring out the glossy and shady parts. And then started to work on her dress.
- In the previous step, I had only added the primary colors to her hair. I finished drawing the hair in this step. I added the details with black colored strokes and for that, I used a sharp charcoal pencil too. After I had finished drawing her body parts and hair, I focused on drawing her dress and background parts. I started with her brasier and I also worked a little on the background.
- Then in step I started adding the details and shades on her clothing too. I used many color layers to complete it. Especially on her skirt. To draw the glowing parts I needed to add a lot of color layers too. With that, my main drawing is completed now all that is left is some final touches on the background.
Final Image
I know, till now the background looked kind of odd to you. And that's why I saved this for the last. Creating this background took me a lot of time and needed to add a lot of color layers to make it as it is. Hope you like it.
