Portrait of a boy, pencil on paper

Children.. for me the greatest inspiration, motivation and the main driver of emotions.. not only when it comes to drawing, but in general in life.. children's drawings evoke special emotions in me, especially the children of my closest ones.. Although normally I like to draw for everyone, for people I love, I feel even stronger emotions and a desire for the drawing to be identical to the original character. This drawing was born from one such love and desire to make a mom and dad happy with a drawing of their baby. How the drawing process went, you can see below.

I started drawing this time from the clothes, although that is not my method. I usually draw the face first because it is the most demanding, however, now I wanted to start with some easy details, although I can tell you that even drawing the clothes was not so easy considering the large detail number.

For these details I used several types of pencils, from 2 HB for some lighter details to 8 B for the darkest shades on the clothes.

I drew the clothes for several hours and I have to admit that I was exhausted with the amount of details I had to do. However, I think the effort paid off.

This was the sweetest part for me to draw.. children's eyes are so gentle, innocent and give off a special energy and love. Eyes are a detail that I always pay special attention to.

In the end, only finesse and some details remained that completed the whole drawing, shadows, contrasts and the final drawing of this boy.
