Glad I met you too and I don't know why people (except those from Argentina) aren't Yerba Mate fans.

Lemon balm is always good. I'd like quince, doesn't matter about prep time. I've always loved sour. I also like bitter, many different kinds of it. Ever have sorrel?

I have frieds who like both coffee and tea, ones who like one and hate the other, and ones who hate both.

But you know, I live in the UK now, so it is 'the way' here :)

It is and it's also part of my culture, how I grew up. I could give up coffee, but not tea, it's layered with too many meanings for me.

Sort:

I drink Yerba for pure benefits of it, and there are many, and they are very easily spotted. Which is rare. Usually what 'works' it is more you believe that it is actually working, not a actually effect, isn't it? Placebo effect ;/

I love sour taste, it is my very favourite:) I know sorrel as a green plant, looking a lot like spinach. It has distinctive tart taste. The one you've mentioned looks a bit like wild rose fruit, but bit fancier:) Never seen those, but I see I can order dried fruits. I have to check those out, thank you:)

I would preferer not to gave up anything, because I really like every day to be different, but if I had to I would gave up coffee, that's for sure:)

Yes, Yerba has many benefits and it's also why I drink it. Ha, the placebo effect, yes. I don't think that's the case with Yerba (at least for myself). I did notice the oddest thing with Yerba that I didn't anticipate (based on the benefits I was aware of), which was this slight euphoric feeling, but balanced, not caffience, just a feeling of overall emotional wellbeing, a lightness, a mild happy feeling.

I grow and eat the green sorrel. It's delicious. Yes, like spinach but a different taste, you're right.

Wild rose fruit is a good description. If I recall correctly, sorrel is a type of hibiscus. I've had a lot of friends from the West Indies, so that's how I was introduced to sorrel. Hibiscus has a similar taste and colour. It's this deep alizarian crimson colour. I've managed to get it fresh here around December and it's so beautiful...I wanted to draw it but no time, lol.

Says it all when coffee can go. Tea is steeped sacred in my blood. 😉

Love hibiscus! I don't drink it very often, because it is too sweet for my taste, but I love the colour of this beverage and how the flowers look when I pour hot water:)

I thought you'd know hibiscus. It's so beautiful when you add water to it. I think sorrel is more sour than hibiscus. It can be sweet, yes, now that I think of it. I like to make iced herbal tea (minus sugar) with either, but I typically blend each of them with other herbs.

Yeah, I am making ice tea with it.
tbh I prefer my tea as hot as a lava, but now is hot even in UK, so little bit of ice helps a lot:)

Ha, you're also an ice tea person! I grew up on tea, English style, fine china cups and the like (don't tell anyone). I prefer it hot also, even if it's hot weather. Ice tea is a sometimes thing when the mood strikes me to do so.
